Royal Sands.... Simply The Best Staff Anywhere!
We have come here every year...forever. The beach is beautiful, the villas are great!! However it is the staff that keeps us coming back. They have become our second family!!
Staff at the front desk doesn't get a lot of recognition. Let me tell you about Amanda. Husband Tom had an injured foot and couldn't walk well. Amanda spent at least an hour finding the perfect room for us....close to the elevator and close to the stairs. She was so kind and always smiling. She also helped me with a few things (like a lost card) during the week. If you get her for check in, you will have hit the jackpot!!
Veranda wait staff. They have only one speed....fast!! They are efficient and so friendly. Ricardo and David were my special guys! I had so much fun getting to know them even though they were always busy. Mario, Fernando(Fer), and really all of the others deserve a special shout out. We love Saulo over at Sissel. We remember him from Captain's Cove. The managers at both the Veranda and Sissel are everywhere and pitch in wherever needed...truly great guys!
Bar Staff. Manuel and Pedro. I have known them for years! Malandin is just starting out. He tries so hard and always tries to do a perfect job! German and Cesar are great. I know that I have forgotten someone. Please know that every single one of them always has a smile and a friendly hello!! Eder is a bartender at the Trattoria restaurant. He makes the best Cosmos ever!!! Daniel who is a waiter there is also a wonderful part of the staff as is manager Luis.
Pool Staff. I have also known many of these great guys for years. Tomas always goes out of his way, work wise and friendly wise. He teases me about always losing at pool Bingo. We always laugh about my lack of skill! Auturo, Moises, Damien, Eduardo, so hard working and so friendly!!
Hospitality Staff. Marisbel is a ray of sunshine. She has only worked at the hotel for a few months but it seems like she has been there for years. Sairy, Rodrigo (an Elvis Presely guy) , Walter, Kara, just everyone tries every single day to give the guest a fun time at whatever is going on!
Robert and Felipe are the two best porters ! Felipe wants to continue working at the Royal Sands even though he has worked so diligently to just get his law degree.
I can't possibly name every wonderful person on staff at Royal Sands! Please go and discover these wonderful people so that you can give them a shout out next year!!

Unsafe Slippery Floors
I was there for 9 days September 23 thru Oct 2, the Resort was very clean and the service including the lady that clean my suite was very good, however the Resort is very unsafe do to the fact that the floors throughout the resort are very slippery, I took a fall on Oct 1st and got hurt, the resort send me to Amerimed and they are a Scam, they charge me $4000 dls for taking Xrays and putting my arm in sling, the hospital supposly diagnose me with a broken Hemurus, when I got to San Diego on Oct 3rd I went straight to the hospital, there they took Xrays and a CT and it tunn out Negative no broken bones, right now I have a claim against the resort, to get my money back, I live the Royal Sands and I have stayed there numerous times, but I dont thinkbi will stay there again do to unsafe slippery floors
Return visit to Royal Sands.
Had another vacation here. We go 2 times a year. Food at the Char Hut and Pool bar was good. The buffet was improved a lot as in the past. The wait staff work very hard. Our housekeeper Darmi was very efficient.
Clean decent place
Room was spotless. Staff friendly. Need to close inner door to not hear neighbors. Screaming children. Fool is mediocre and several items upcharge from all inclusive in a way that appears based more on popularity than actual cost. Do not do offsite sales tour as you will waste an entire day. Beach covered in seaweed

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL
I WOULD’NT GO TO THIS HOTEL EVEN IF IT WAS A FREE TRIP! Doesn’t even deserve 1 star! Staff are rude and unhelpful! There’s no facilities to go for a drink after dinner! No bars other than the sports bar which after 8pm no children are allowed it. They say you can stay in the buffet and drink! We spent 3 evenings in the sports bar with a 15 year old and nothing was said then on the 4th evening, they kicked us out after they’d taken our food and drinks order! The staff were rude and laughing after telling us to leave. The staffs attitude absolutely stinks! Then we sat outside the bar waiting for our food after waiting for ages we went in to check and they said they cancelled the order!
We arrived here after a long flight, when we checked in they told us that we were staying in one room for one night and then had to move rooms the next day because of TIME SHARES which was never mentioned when we booked or at all leading up to our stay!
Food in the buffet is all cold and really bad! Breakfast is the only thing thats okay but even then it’s not hot!
No evening entertainment which what hotel doesn’t have entertainment especially a family friendly hotel!
The only thing that is nice is the pools they are lovely however the pool bars don't open until 11am which what the hell is that about!
It is definitely a hotel built for old people to be in their time share rooms 24/7
