The centre of Cancún, which lies 1 km away, may easily be reached by making use of public transportation for which a stop is located directly in front of the hotel. The international airport lies about 20 km away.

Could do a lot better!!
Rui Cancun is ideal it's right on the beach, The hotel it's self is very grand & some places needs refreshing to bring it back to a 5* which it was previously believe. We had a quiet room with no noisy neighbours & it was perfectly functional. Unfortunately some people spoilt our stay, after having our meal a drink in the bar would be a nice end to the day. But, some people were so loud & rowdy drinking shots the more they drunk theblouder they got.You couldn't here yourself talk & we were forced to leave the bar as did other people. Also whilst eating in the self service restaurant some guests thought it was acceptable to have an argument & swearing match. This simply isn't on! If the latter hadn't happend & spoil our holiday I would have said it was value for money

The hotel was amazing great experience.
Nice hotel be aware of airport tranportation.
The hotel was nice. Food could be better as they missing some choices at the buffet. The airport pick up did not work and the Hotel have outsource the service to a third party. I have to pay $100 for a taxi and no one in the hotel or the third party take any reponsibility. Probably not going here again.

Family trip 2026
My family and I had a fantastic time at the RIU Cancun. It was our second time there. The only thing we wish is that the AC in the room was cooler. Also add some extra sheets and pillows in the closet for people to use on the sofa bed. Why was there not a single plastic bag in any of the trash cans? It would make it easier for the housekeeping workers to empty them, instead of constantly having to wash these trash cans, each time they clean the rooms.

Awesone Stay at Riu Cancun
I strongly recommend Hotel Riu Cancun to any traveller planning to come to Cancun. Location of the hotel is great. Hotel itself is excellent. Good food choices. Clean pools, good beaches. Anything you ask for on a vacation is right here.
