So first of all , the staff is very friendly and great for people who have kids. The buffet is not great I will give it a 5/10. The resturants I will give it a 7/ 10. The cleaness I will give it a 7/10 the toliets have black mold growing in them and on the curtains in the room. The alcohol servers at the pool use the same utensils that was use in customers personal cups to make other people's drinks. The air conditioner keep shutting off so I had to call the help desk 2 times. Also a employee named Gasper that works at the Caribbean restaurant next to beach refused to sit us next to the open door because the erestaurant is next to beach with no air conditioning. He said he needed the other tables for other guests but i was nearly empty. It was only 3 other families at 8 pm. I took pictures to show how empty it was.He began to call security because we sat at another table, so we just left. Also if you like a newer resort this is older but it is well maintained.
We are Prestige members, and we booked the Rose Gold Villa. We absolutely love the walkout pool overlooking the beach. This was our 11th time coming to this resort, and it truly feels like our second home.
One of the reasons we keep coming back is the size of the resort—it’s easy to get around but still has so much to offer. The food is phenomenal! The chefs really pay attention to the variety, and every meal is consistently delicious. La Horma is definitely our favorite restaurant.
We were welcomed by the amazing Prestige team led by Alexander B. and Theo. A special thank you to Flor, Alexis, and Fernando, who were always available whenever we needed dinner reservations, wine recommendations, or anything else during our stay.
A huge shoutout to Guadalupe, who is the best ambassador! He made our private dinner so much fun and kept us entertained all evening. Our private dinner was outstanding thanks to Chef Abraham, Captain William, and our waiter Moises, who made the entire experience unforgettable.
We also want to thank Yaraneli at Café Alma for making the best lattes every morning, Antonio and Roger at the buffet for always taking such great care of us, Nefi at La Horma for the wonderful service, Raul and Chef Mitchell at Hibachi for such a fun and delicious dinner, Alejandro for always being there with the golf cart whenever we needed a ride, Angel for making the best omelets every morning, and Claudia for always making our members’ breakfast such a great experience.
The spa is also a must! We were greeted by Ana Ari and had the best massages from Doris, Marisol, and Estela. Their kindness, professionalism, and exceptional hospitality made us feel so relaxed and pampered throughout our stay.
Thank you to the entire Iberostar team for another amazing vacation. After 11 visits, you continue to make us feel like family, and we already can’t wait to come back for visit number 12!
Unfortunately cannot recommend this hotel. Very expensive for the quality. The rooms are VERY old and dirty. Looks like they haven't been updated since the 90's. Extremely run down; cracks in tile, warped doors, mold etc. We stayed here 1 night of our 9 day trip and left the following morning. The main issue: the air conditioning DOES. NOT. WORK. like at all. The villa literally felt like a sauna. They offered a different villa, this one on the ground floor but also, zero air conditioning and obstructed ocean view which we paid extra for... The kids pool was closed with no explanation besides "maybe a kid pooped in the pool..." the tables at the outdoor restaurant were visibly dirty and covered with birds. The buffet was ok and sufficient. The manager was professional and understanding about our concerns and they did give us a refund minus the transport fee (we paid round trip and only used half since we switched hotels) and the $200 we paid up select the room number of the villa which was totally run down and not usable with no air conditioning lol. This place needs a complete renovation and then maybe it would be OK but there are wayyy better resorts you can stay at that aren't dirty, old, and broiling lol
I just checked in. We booked 2 ocean front suites for our family and came with another who also booked an ocean front suite. Upon arrival, we ALL got told they could not give us the suites with King beds. Then they tried to say it’s because we booked through a 3rd party which we did not, we booked straight through Iberostar. They did not offer a solution to the problem they caused. They said the root cause is not enough rooms. We booked this all at the same time. The only offer was to stay in another room and then uproot ourselves and move the next day. This is our 3rd time here. The other family, their 6th time. We can’t believe we were treated this way and o my offered an upgrade if we paid. The hotel itself is in need of a refresh. Poorly paint rooms, lots of water damage, and maintenance tools laying around. This was a waste of 7k.
Location is good. Middle of the strip. Close to airport. Easy transportation to the. Jay area if you like. Buses all the time. 30 min ride even with traffic. Beach: seaweed season but we were able to swim. Morning is better than afternoon. Nice waves. No rocks. Plenty of seats. Pool: terrible pool floor. I have bandaids all over my feet from scratching from the bottom of the pool. Needs tiles or renovations big time. If you participate in the games such as water polo or basketball, be careful. Wear water shoes. I have never such a problem ever in any other resort! Towels as much as you like. Seats at the pool are a problem. Reserve early and they have a stupid policy that you can lose your seat after 30 min of absence. Service at the pool is decent. Hit or miss at the bar. One day they were understaffed. Weekends are busier and service is less. Plus the elevators are a big problem especially on the weekend when it is busy. Ridiculous elevators !!! You can wait 15 min or more. Terrible situation. Food: decent but buffet redundant. No reservations and first come first serve does not work well here. This hotel needs renovations and in fact they are going to do it next year. I can see why. It also lacks luxury. 4 star hotel. Not 5 star as labeled. Shows at night are amateurish. Overall, a lot of positives. Layout of the pool, entertainment team, big theater, ok gym, decent food, nice people, good service, good location, nice AC and nice lobby. Decent size rooms. Nice views, good activities with nice participation. Microphone was banned recently and still entertainment team was able to attract people to participate in pool activities. Good wifi.
