Hyatt Zilara Cancun

We recently spent 11 nights in the newly refurbished Hyatt Zilara and oh my goodness what a phenomenal experience. From the stunning decor to the amazing food to the most wonderful staff - it was just bliss from start to finish.

The rooms were to such a high standard and the turn down service every night was my favourite. The hotel has even thought of the scenario that if you need to get up during the night they have a floor light under the bed to light up the room a little which is just a finer touch I have never experienced before. The rooms were beautifully open planned with an ocean view and lovely balcony hot tub. The fridge was constantly stocked and the rooms were immaculate every day. The most wonderful sleep every night too.

As I mentioned the food was a highlight especially the Teppanyaki show by the incredible chef Angel! You must take a visit to the wonderful coffee house where Jose and Gloria cannot do enough for you and make literally anything you like. Jose even put a picture of our dogs on our coffee. Again, so friendly and kind and it was always a pleasure chatting to any member of staff during our stay. The Italian restaurant was outstanding and the Pier 12 for breakfast, lunch or dinner will never disappoint. The views, the food was all exquisite.

Around the pool you are extremely well looked after and I would like to mention Abimael who was our waiter on quite a few occasions around the pool and his service was 10/10. Nothing was too much trouble, he would regularly check on us but it never felt too much and it was lovely getting to know him during our stay at the Hyatt Zilara.

The hotel has been refurbished beautifully but I would suggest there can be more air conditioned spaces in the foyer as it was especially warm. In saying that the reception where we checked in was enclose and very cool. The hotel is doing its best with entertainment but the white party is a must and the foam party was a lot of fun. I would suggest also that maybe a movie night might be an option in the sports bar on the large screen now and again to offer variety to guests.

Finally, we got to see the turtles coming on the beach to lay their eggs right where we were eating dinner which was so special and certainly a highlight. We got a stunning seat on Pier 12 and witnessed the whole phenomenon for over an hour.

We will 100% be back as this was a holiday we will never forget and it’s largely due to our wonderful stay, the facilities and the staff. Thank you be so welcoming to us and the 10 hour flight from Scotland is absolutely worth it!

The hotel updates are now on the same level as the staff, the culture of Zilara is unmatched. If you want for anything and it can be provided someone will provide you with it. The only negative about the new renovations is that lights come on around the bed and bathroom when the master switch is off, but that isn't the staffs doing, that was an engineered renovation. I understand the need for it, but still would be nice to be able to not have the lights come on everytime a pillow falls off the bed or someone gets up to use the restroom. AC is "just" cold enough if you require it freezing it won't happen. All in all another great experience at Zilara and I would recommend anyone who can afford it to go experience Zilara.
