Old dated building, bathroom with half glass door causing water splashing all over floor, does not replenish bathroom basic supplies such as shower cap, and small items, the buffet foods is mediocre at best, reserved restaurant Bahia is better than Dos Tunas but foods are normal, nothing to be proud about. There are noise pretty constant through out the day, cannot have a relaxing time for adults couple. Music was loud from 8 PM to 11 PM. This portion of the resort is for general public. Other high end area might have less noise. If you stay inside your room and open the door, there was no sea breeze unless you stand right at the balcony, otherwise your room will be warm and humid. Will not come back to this resort again.
This was my first time in Mexico, and I chose this resort. We got a sunset grand room, and I was surprised to find out it actually had an ocean view to it too. It was beautiful.
The quality of the room was 2/5. It was very outdated, the furniture was creaky and broken, the bed frame was crooked, the bathroom was poorly engineered. But I still give the resort a solid 4/5 because the service was absolutely fantastic. I did not have to wait for drinks more than 1 minute.
The service for cleaning and maintenance was impeccable. The buffet, was where I draw back the 1 point, the selection of food was surprisingly not that great. I came to Mexico with the impression that the food is 5/5.
Breakfast was probably the best at the buffet. But the A La Cart restaurants were amazing. We chose the Steak Bar. We asked for medium rare but the steaks were very thin and it came out well-done. It was still very delicious.
The beach was beautiful, it has a lot of seaweed and the first 2 days we weren’t able to swim in the Ocean because the waves were massive and it was too dangerous.
Pools were perfect, and the food stands were amazing. They have ice cream, taco’s, pizza, hot dogs, burritos, guac and much more and the stands are available at almost every corner of the resort.
We 100% will be returned again.
We were extremely satisfied with the waiter Emmanuel Cordoba at Le Buffet at the Oasis Chain of hotels. He was attentive and did not hesitate to make our meal a pleasant experience.
Outdated and the restaurants are lacking. The rooms are comparable to a motel six. Your room opens to the elements and full of mosquitoes the beach located at the hotel is small and full of kids but I would not take my family to this resort it is extremely outdated. We booked for a week ended up leaving after the first night and rebooked at another resort. The food wasn’t bad but definitely not resort quality more like Golden Corral without the honey butter. Save your money and pay to stay at the Hyatt or Gaza Blanca
My partner and I are are in our mid 30's, very laid back, very chill, difficult to disappoint
We were really excited to stay at Grand Oasis Cancun for our anniversary, but unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. (( DO NOT LET THE LOBBY AND PEACOCKS FOOL YOU )) LOL
I messaged the resort about two months before our trip asking about an ocean-view upgrade and mentioned we were happy to pay for it. We also asked to be away from the kids’ area since we don’t have kids and wanted a more relaxing stay.
When we arrived, our room was facing the kids’ stage and kids’ area. At night, the music was blasting until around 10–11 p.m., with kids screaming and yelling past 12am. It was very frustrating when we were tired and just wanted to relax...
The food situation was the worst part. Buffet lines were often 45 minutes to an hour long or any of the resteraunts. If you didn’t have a reservation, you basically weren’t eating unless you wanted to wait 45min-1hr+ in line.
What they don’t make clear enough when booking is that to access better restaurants and more amenities, you have to upgrade. The upgrade was originally going to cost us over $1,200 CAD. I was able to talk them down, but it was still hundreds of dollars extra. At that point, we could have just booked a better resort from the start.
Without the upgrade, the food was honestly terrible. I felt hungry most of the trip and the drinks weren’t great either. The staff also didn’t seem very welcoming or happy to be there.
Once we upgraded, the restaurants were much better, but with the stress, extra costs, long lines, and frustration, it was not worth it.
I’ve been to Cancun and Mexico before, and this was one of the most disappointing resort experiences I’ve had. The photos make it look like a great deal, but in my opinion, it feels like a tourist trap unless you’re willing to pay a lot more once you arrive.
Be careful booking here. A cheap price does not always mean a good deal.
Also, if you have any issues with walking, accessibility needs, mobility concerns, or require handicap-friendly accommodations, I would avoid this resort completely. The layout is not ideal, and getting around can be very frustrating.
