Good and Bad, depends on what your looking for
We went for a girl's trip. It is in a transition of ownership from Hyatt to Hilton and I think they've cut some costs during this transition. So the bad first- It's like pulling teeth to get the advertised top shelf liquor, the pool bar closes at 5pm, you can't eat food at your pool chair (wtf?, we're not children), there's no DJ or any energy at the rooftop pool- just music playing. No rose wine included in "all-inclusive". The vibe was way more chill than to what we heard it used to be. The $200 resort credit was a joke- you can only use $100 per person and the 50 min. massage is marked up to $189! Or you can get $10 off an over priced bottle of wine. The restaurants rotate each night and there's food on the menu you can't have at an "all-inclusive", you have to pay extra to get it! The vibe at the main pool was soooo quiet and almost no one was there. The buffet was good, but it closes at 4pm! No dinner buffet. The evening entertainment was ok, but they need more seating. One lady bartender in the nightclub was EXTREMELY RUDE and literally threw a drink! The minibar in the room is a joke- we had soda, water and 1 beer- hahahaha! Also, they will not bring any alcohol to your room after 11pm- so stock up! We all did a spa - the hydrotherapy pool is completely covered and the water was cold and the showers in the spa were cold, the worker giggled and nodded when I said there's no hot water. Ok the good- we felt safe, good security, the staff was helpful and friendly most of the time, the coffee bar was AMAZING!!!! The food overall was ok. The rooms were clean and nice, the balcony was nice, great views. Location was good- we took short Uber rides (safe) to downtown clubs and restaurants. The beach was nice, they have chairs/ umbrellas. It did have a bit of seaweed which they tried to clean up each morning. We did yoga by the rooftop pool, that was lovely as well.

Horrible Experience and Extremely Rude Staff
I had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Breathless Cancun Soul Resort for my 25th high school reunion trip. This was a planned trip organized with the resort. Although the organizers also had serious issues with the resort, I will focus on my personal horrible experience.
Upon arrival, the check in process was absolutely horrible and unorganized. I waited in line for an hour while two people checked in guests. Also, because this was a planned event with the resort, my group was supposed to have express check in at a separately designated area, which was not provided.
The food was mostly disgusting and inedible at most of the restaurants onsite. Also, the staff was rude and unwelcoming. This included the service at the restaurants on site. The resort also pulled a bait and switch with the bottle of tequila that was supposed to come with the stay. When booking, there was a bottle of tequila included. During check in, we were told that that was not something we were entitled to. Once we pulled up the reservation confirmation, they conceded and gave us the coupon. We were initially told that we would go to the bar to obtain the bottle. When we went to the bar, we were told to go the restaurant. When we went to the restaurant, we were told we could only obtain the bottle if we were eating there which was not included on the coupon. When we finally tried to redeem at the restaurant we were eating at, we were told we could not get tequila but had to get the house wine. Others were told that they could only get house champagne. This run around appeared to be an intentional resort wide ploy to prevent guests obtaining what was paid for in the reservation.
The most egregious encounter we had was while dining at Fish Nets. We were a party of 7 and 6 of us were seated. Our 7th attempted to join us and the manager who said his name was Jonathan, however I do not believe that was true, stated that she could not join us because that would be unfair to those waiting to be seated. We had not ordered, there was a place setting for her at our table, and she was included in the reservation. As I stated, this was a reunion trip and two others who were on the trip were being seated at a 4 top. We asked that she be able to join them and she was also denied. They then gave her a pager and she was forced to wait. When the party of two were finished, she was sat at their table. She could have been seated there in the first place. This was outrageous!!!
The service and my overall experience at the Breathless Cancun Soul resort was horrible. I will never stay there again or with any other Breathless Property. This also makes me question the entire Hyatt brand if this is the type of property they are willing to put their name on.

The location was great, atmosphere was good. Room was neat and clean, but bed was not comfortable at all. A good vibe for a couple celebrating an anniversary.
Our 20th Anniversary Trip Did Not Live Up to What Was Marketed
My husband surprised me with a six-night trip to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. I had recently started a new job, so I honestly wavered about taking six days away so soon. But this was an incredible milestone, and knowing that my husband had planned this special surprise for us made me decide to take the time and fully embrace the experience.
We spent a lot of time deciding between a romantic, relaxing resort and one with a more energetic, social atmosphere. Ultimately, we chose this property because of how it was marketed: lively, high-energy, entertaining, and fun.
Unfortunately, that was not the experience we had.
The resort simply did not have the energetic atmosphere we expected. The entertainment was limited and did not reflect what had been marketed. There were times when very little seemed to be happening, which was especially disappointing because the lively atmosphere was one of the primary reasons we chose this resort over other properties.
The food experience was also disappointing. The breakfast and lunch buffets offered very little variety, and restaurant closures further limited the dining options. When you are staying at an all-inclusive resort for six nights, limited food choices and closed restaurants significantly affect the overall experience.
I do want to be fair and very clear about one thing: the staff appeared to be trying. Our disappointment was not because the employees did not care. In many instances, it seemed they were doing the best they could, but the resort appeared to be seriously understaffed. You could feel the impact of that throughout the property, from service to dining to the overall energy and execution of the resort experience.
What makes this especially difficult is that this was not just another vacation. It was our 20th wedding anniversary, and my husband had surprised me by planning this trip for us. I had hesitated to take six days away from a new job, but I did because this milestone mattered and because I wanted to fully appreciate what he had planned.
I truly wish the experience had matched what we believed we were choosing.
Had the resort been represented more accurately, we likely would have selected a different property.
This resort may work for someone looking for a quieter getaway that does not offer many options, but that was not what we were looking for or what we believed was being marketed to us. We specifically chose this property for the energetic atmosphere, entertainment, dining choices, and overall experience we expected, and unfortunately, the reality did not match.
I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously. The staff needs more support, and guests deserve an experience that reflects what is being advertised, especially when they are trusting a property with a once-in-a-lifetime milestone like a 20th wedding anniversary.
We did not get what we paid for!
We booked our trip 8 months ago before they sold out - we upgraded to Exhale Club and did not receive the "Exhale" experience that everyone previously raved about! This was a girls trip - we made the best of it - food was MID - room service to get a bottle of water - terrible we had to walk downstairs each time they did not restock it daily as sold in the "exhale" package!
