Our experience at Taj Bentota, Sri Lanka, was truly memorable, and a significant part of what made our stay so special was the exceptional service, genuine warmth, and outstanding professionalism of Dilan.
In an era when excellent service can be difficult to find, Dilan stands out as someone who goes far beyond the expectations of his role. His attentiveness, positive attitude, willingness to help, and genuine desire to ensure that guests are happy reflect the very best of the Taj legacy. He does not simply perform his duties; he creates experiences, builds connections, and makes guests feel genuinely valued.
What impressed us most was his ability to serve with sincerity and grace. His approach to hospitality was not merely professional but deeply personal. A Wonderful Stay at Taj Bentota, Sri Lanka – Exceptional Hospitality and Personalised Care
Our experience at Taj during our visit to Sri Lanka was truly memorable, particularly because of the hospitality, and personalised attention extended to us throughout our stay.
As Indians travelling in Sri Lanka, one of our concerns was the availability of Indian meals that would suit our preferences. We were pleasantly surprised by how accommodating the culinary team was. A special mention goes to Chef Dalip and Chef Sharat, who went out of their way to understand our requests and ensure that we were served Indian meals according to our preferences. Every request was handled with genuine care, and their willingness to accommodate us made us feel comfortable. Their efforts made a significant difference to our overall experience, and we are truly grateful to both of them.
Equally commendable was the team at the reception. They were always approachable, attentive, and readily available whenever we needed assistance. Whether it was a special request or any help required during our stay, the team ensured that our concerns were addressed promptly and with a smile. Their willingness to help made the entire experience smooth and hassle-free.
What stood out most was not just the Taj hospitality that one expects from the brand, but the genuine warmth and personal attention shown by the people who made our stay special.
A heartfelt thanks to Chef Dalip, Chef Sharat, and the entire reception team for making our stay so comfortable and memorable. Their dedication reflects the true spirit of hospitality.

Fabulous hotel in a beautiful location
We have just returned from a 9 night stay at the Taj Bentota which is nestled in a beautiful location in Southern Sri Lanka. On checking in we were upgraded from a garden view room to a sea view room (620) this upgrade was due to construction work being carried out in part of the hotel. The room was very spacious and very clean with sea views to die for, the hotel grounds are immaculate and very well turned out.
What really makes this hotel stand out are the staff they are all a credit to the hotel, from our room boy Sachith who was a master at towel art, every day we had the most inventive animals they were so impressive and on his last day he made a crocodile which was the length of our bed absolutely brilliant!
Sam our breakfast server always made sure that our table was ready and waiting with a pot of tea and always brought me a different Indian or Sri Lankan breakfast to try. Kannangara who made sure we were well watered whilst relaxing by the pool and our evening servers Asiri and Sisil who were so attentive.
The food was absolutely lovely different dishes every day and one of the chefs I’m so sorry we never took his name made my husband a garlic naan fresh every evening and even on his day off they made sure that his naan was freshly cooked, what a fab service ! Special shout out to Bernard on beach security what a great guy we always had great chats with him.
We look forward to hopefully returning one day.
Amazing stay for family with kids
This property is just amazing especially if you are travelling with kids. Food spread is just amazing (bf, lunch and dinner). Staff is extremely courteous (at par Taj standard)

An absolutely amazing hotel with truly exceptional staff! Everyone went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and their kindness, impeccable manners and attention to detail made our stay extra special. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and the level of service we received really stood out. The staff played a huge part in making our trip so memorable, and we cannot thank them enough for making it such a wonderful experience. We would highly recommend this hotel and would love to return in the future!
