I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Cinnamon Bentota Beach! Everything was top-notch—from the luxurious rooms and beautiful atmosphere to the exceptional hospitality. The food was delicious with a great variety, and the entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a perfect getaway in Sri Lanka! Will definitely visit again.
The staff were very attentive—perhaps even overly so at times. The rooms were well-equipped; I particularly liked the terrace. The pools and the surrounding area were very inviting. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic, featuring a huge selection and tasteful presentation. The pool bar offered delicious cocktails, though there was room for improvement regarding the iced coffee. The hotel building itself felt a bit stark.
This hotel is quite the massive open facility with a great entry point for groups. It felt like a long way to our rooms but it was worth the walk. We had a lovely ground floor outlook over the gardens with the beach in the distance. The bathroom was very nice and the whole room was spacious but not wasteful. Plenty of powerpoints and lights. By exiting through our verandah, we had a short walk across the garden to the main pool. The pool was a great depth, and was perfect for a pre-dinner relax. Unfortunately, one of our party put her foot from the steps onto the timber surrounding floor only to take a nasty slip and fall. The staff were most attentive and explained the floor was only new. Why then, had they not used a non-slip coating on it, if it was going to be very slippery when wet? We dined in the Noodle Cafe (could also have had the buffet meal - reported to be excellent by others from our group). While it seemed to take quite a long time for our beverages to arrive, they were delicious, and the food, divine! We had the half-board package (bed, breakfast & dinner). Sleep was no issue with the room being quiet all night. The breakfast buffet was the best we'd seen, finally having actual bacon to go with some eggs. Finally, a decent cup of coffee too. All the usual suspects there as well. Checkout was a bit confusing as there is no reception desk, as such, and just several staff members seated and desks. Watch out for the tax at this place. What had seemed like reasonably priced drinks then had taxes of 34% added on top on the account!
We have rarely had bad experiences at Cinnamon Hotels. Cinnamon Bentota was highly recommended to us by many of our friends and family, so we had high expectations. Those expectations were met! One of the highlights was the quality and spread of food - and we went during the off season when the hotel isn't full. Both the dinner and breakfast buffet really stand out!
We stayed in room 1105. We had a amazing experience- amazing atmosphere , great room, fantastic food and pool. The staff were exceptional. I wish we could name all of them., but to name some Akeel, Oshada, Ajith and the guy who took us on a boat safari whose name i cannot remember unfortunately. But thank you to all for making our stay memorable. We would come back again definitely.
