A lovely hotel with lots of things to do to keep everyone busy during day and night. The spa was truly excellent and we love the treatments and cleanliness of the whole area. The advertising of the spa was not the best we only found out about it via a rep visiting the cabanas otherwise we would have missed out. It a real shame we couldn’t book some of the restaurants due to being fully booked which seem to get booked very easily by people getting up early? The family pools were very busy and despite signs saying do not ‘hog’ the beds towels appeared on most beds very early in the morning, there must be a way of sorting this out as some beds were unoccupied for long periods of the day. Meals were extremely good, unfortunately I got food poisoning after eating in one area which I won’t name but the meal in question was easily identified by me. A shame as I missed a day but this did not spoil the week. The cabanas in my opinion are excellent and I must single out Caesar our ‘butler’ as a stand out member of staff. The rooms are very well maintained and stocked. They can be very noisy in the corridors but thus is due to the inability of guests to close doors quietly. Entertainment again is great with something to suit all ages. The piano bar was our favourite due to the great variety of musical talent playing. The hotel rep who set next to the TUI rep in the reception area was very helpful and knowledgeable which again is a great help. A cast complex which can be a little overwhelming but you soon get used to how everything works. I am not sure we managed to use all areas during our short break.

We (mum, dad and 17year old daughter) have just returned from nine nights at this lovely hotel. There are lots of positives and just a couple of recommendations. We stayed in the mixed area, room 2627. Second floor room with double bed and a single bed in the room. Room was a decent size with enough space for three large suitcases. Beds were quite firm but comfortable. Very generous pillows and really good quality bed linen and towels. The room was very clean - as is the whole hotel. The only negative would have to be the bathroom which is definitely in need of an upgrade. The shower was poor, temperature was hit and miss and climbing in and out of, quite a high, bath was actually dangerous. I felt like I was on the edge of catastrophe every time I had to get in or out of the shower and anyone with any kind of mobility/knee issues would be unable to access the shower. The room overlooks the front of the hotel; a view of the discount shop across the road and the mountains behind which was fine for us as we didn’t spend much time in there. The balcony got sun in the morning and had a handy pull out rail for drying swimwear. As I have said, the hotel is very clean. All public areas are very well-maintained and the house-keeping and grounds team work very hard. We ate in the buffet, the Italian and the Chinese restaurants for our evening meals. The buffet is the usual fare and suffers from the usual issues of everything being a bit tepid by the time you get back to the table. It isn’t a huge buffet and there are areas for adults only which was a bonus. The staff were very attentive and the drinks service was very good. We found the Italian restaurant menu to be a little bland but the service was good. The food in the Chinese was the best that we ate all week and it is definitely worth booking a table there. There are several lunch options: Thea’s coffee shop, The Sunset place at the beach and another snack shack that made the biggest baked potatoes I’ve ever seen! The ice cream parlour is also very nice and the variety of flavours is good. Drinks were good quality and all cocktails are freshly made. The swim up bar staff were particularly hard-working and always pleasant. The pools themselves are a highlight of this hotel. Immaculately clean and well maintained. We didn’t see a single missing tile or rough step anywhere in the adults area. Sunbeds, around the adults pool, are easily available at any time of the day and the lifeguard is on hand to help with sun umbrellas if you are struggling. We didn’t go to see any of the evening entertainment at the outside venue, we preferred to play cards in the piano bar. The musicians playing in there work hard and the eclectic set lists were certainly entertaining. A couple more waiters in the piano bar in the evenings would make a difference to the speed of service and level of attention that guests might expect in a five star hotel. My daughter and I visited the spa and really enjoyed our Turkish bath and massages. The spa is expensive but the staff are really lovely and it felt like a proper relaxing treat. There are lots of things about this hotel which we enjoyed but, unlike many, I don’t think we would return. Some simple upgrades and luxury touches could make this hotel something really special but I don’t think it has the fine tuning of some of the other Akra hotels.

Lovely hotel but few things let it down. Start with the positives. Spotlessly clean. Staff are all very helpful. Bedrooms are clean and spacious with very comfy beds. Food and drinks are some of the best we have had in any all inclusive. We went to the Spa as a family and it was excellent. Cabanas were also excellent. Negatives..bathrooms dated and need refurbed…however very clean. Sun loungers around hotel need padding…they are padded on beach and cabanas. Absolutely nothing for teenagers. Pool table seen better days as has the dart board. Please invest in some decent pools tables, dart boards and a teen room. Also too many adult only zones…huge adult only pool and beautiful bars but half empty and families packed into smaller areas. It’s like it can’t make up its mind what kind of hotel it actually is…family or adults only…with a 13 years old and 2 16 year olds we found this difficult. I would absolutely love to return to this hotel but only could if they do more for teens.
