A beautiful setting with outstanding restaurant & stunning views. Staff in hotel and restaurant were both very friendly and provided great suggestions and ideas on the area and things to see. Truly a memorable location I hope to be a return guest.
The staff at this quite little place are superb, from reception to breakfast staff to evening staff who were terrific, can't fought the food it was always cooked beautifully, If there is a problem or need anything ask & they will sort it, Restaurant are lovely lovely views looking out to sea, bar area surprisingly enough not used to much but is good to chill out with drink after meal, Apartments are adequate & got what you need, only thing would say needs a bit of updating paint wise but for price & 3 star it's good enough, The bus service into Funchal couple of minutes walk & only takes 20/25 minutes Recommend this place for quite relaxing stay,
I booked a solo holiday in Canico Baxio, expecting it to be quieter than the hustle and bustle of Funchal. It definitely is a quieter place, but lacks the benefit of a centre and somewhere to go to enjoy some life. There are a few cafes and restaurants, but lacking in real choice. Shops/supermarkets are few and far between unless you’re prepared to walk up the long hill to Canico central town. It’s an okay place, but lacks any real centre or place to sit and watch the world go by. The beach front lacks excitement and needs some more good places to go to. There are also building works being done currently . If you’re happy with not much to do or see locally then it will suit you, but if you want something with a little life and of interest, then I’d opt for something closer to Funchal.
Wow, what a view from the terrace, worth a visit just for that. Very friendly and helpful staff. The food was amazing you have to try the mixed meat kebabs cooked in the wood burning oven That's if you have a health appetite. Couldn't fault the place, good value for money. Cheers.
Arrived 8pm on the dot. No service at all till 815, would we like drinks? Kinda. Anther 15 mins before these were served, in which time 3 more enquiries re drinks... already ordered. Much improved once drinks and food served. Decent mixed meat kebab and epic meat on the stone. Good value and decent portions, all mains come with 2 side dishes. No room for desserts. They'd be worth 5 stars if not for indifferent service. Prob a bit understaffed at this time.
