The Views Oasis

Had a very nice 10 days at the hotel on a bed and breakfast basis , we had a superior sea view room which was enormous. All staff friendly and efficient. We arrived on my birthday and had a free evening meal in the restaurant which was a very nice gesture and much appreciated. Food was great, had 4 evening meals in the buffet restaurant. Although the hotel was full it never felt it , Maderia has so much to offer people ( us included ) and people are off out on the many trips available. My husband used the gym which he said was excellent .I had a great and very reasonably priced massage in the spa. I do think the sun loungers and umbrellas could do with replacing, but overall the views is a really great hotel. Shops and other restaurants all within easy walking distance as well. We will definitely be returning to Madeira and would consider a return to the views as it was a very enjoyable holiday.

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel during a trip with my wife, who is disabled, and we would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and welcoming place to stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff were polite, helpful, and professional, which made check-in quick, easy, and stress-free for both of us. The room was clean, tidy, and beautifully presented, with a comfortable bed, fresh linen, and a relaxing atmosphere that made it easy to unwind. There was plenty of space to settle in, and the room felt bright, calm, and well cared for. The bathroom was spotless, modern, and stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay. I also appreciated the thoughtful details, such as the neat layout, good lighting, and overall sense of comfort. One of the highlights of the stay was the excellent service. The hotel team were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, which made a real difference to us as we were travelling with accessibility needs in mind. They made every interaction feel easy and pleasant, from check-in to answering questions about the local area. We found that if we had any questions, it was always best to ask the staff, as they were happy to help and explain things clearly rather than leaving us to assume. Their professional and thoughtful approach helped create a warm, personal, and enjoyable experience throughout the stay. With the staff in mind, we would like to say a big thank you to Yvonne for all her help, kindness, and support during our stay. We stayed on an all-inclusive basis, which worked very well for us and added to the overall value of the holiday. The food was enjoyable and well presented, with a good selection available at breakfast. Everything tasted fresh, and there was enough choice to suit different preferences. The lunch menu was compact but offered enough variety for a two-week stay because dishes could be changed to suit individual tastes. This made it easy to enjoy different meals without feeling limited. The evening menu was themed, with seven different types available, which added variety and made each evening meal feel interesting. The dining area was clean, comfortable, and well organised, creating a pleasant atmosphere to start and end the day. The quality, flexibility, and all-inclusive option added to the overall enjoyment of the stay. The entertainment was also enjoyable and added a nice atmosphere to the evenings, giving us something pleasant to look forward to after dinner. The hotel is in a very convenient location, only around 15 minutes from the airport, which made travelling to and from the hotel easy. It was well placed for visiting nearby attractions, shops, restaurants, and local points of interest, while still offering a relaxing place to return to at the end of the day. At the back of the hotel, there is a wide paved path beside the sea, which was lovely for enjoying the views. The free shuttle bus to Funchal was another excellent benefit, making trips into the city simple and stress-free. The area around the hotel is quite hilly, but we found it accessible with a mobility scooter, which can be hired through the hotel. The hotel itself was very accessible, with two lifts that made getting around much easier. If you have mobility needs, I would suggest letting your tour operator know before you travel so they can inform the hotel in advance. This helps both you and the hotel prepare and makes the stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We were also very impressed by the amazing work the hotel is doing for the environment and sustainability. It is clear they are making thoughtful changes to reduce waste and be more eco-friendly, which is something we really appreciated. Some of these changes may feel different at first, but if you have a problem or need anything, the best thing to do is simply ask the staff. They are helpful, understanding, and happy to explain or assist wherever they can. Overall, this was a comfortable, enjoyable, and great-value all-inclusive stay for both me and my wife. The hotel offered friendly service, clean and welcoming rooms, enjoyable food, and a convenient location. Everything came together to create a relaxing and memorable experience, and the thoughtful service helped us feel well looked after throughout our visit. I would happily stay here again and would strongly recommend it to other travellers.

The check inn was fine. I check in on beforehand so pretty easy. Stay for 1 week with a 13year old. Booked a family room. Did that over 3 months before arrival. Ended up with a room that is on the grown floor. Right under the breakfast/dinner hall. The pictures off family rooms show balcony. Not grown floor. Tried to change room because my niece got woken by chairs upstairs moving early morning. They said no. Dont have any rooms available. Funny i see i can book online..Also impossible to be in the room when dinner starts. So much noice from the tables/chairs being moved back and forth.

We booked a roomservice first night because we came late. The food was so bad we did not eat half off it. And ridiculousy expensive for that terrible meal. We gave the food on more try the next day for lunch. Again, terrible and to expensive. Would recommend going up to the restaurants 5-10minutes away for all except breakfast.

They also charge you to change towels for pool. Because off environment they say. But no, this is because thats a way to make money. If they wanted to save the environment they would just do it with no extra charge like all other hotels. Have never in my life in the thousands off hotels experience that they charge you for change off towel because off environment. The price off it dont matter. Just the thought that that’s one more way to make money. Pool way to much chlorine. Wifi terrible on the room grown floor, keeps falling in an out. And very slow. Only works well in the morning when people are sleeping. The cleaners are suppose to come every day. But it ranges from 0900am to 1500pm. Impossible to time this. They do a good job when they wash doh. Laundry is so expensive it’s ridiculous. The shower in the room is good, but the water just runs out. The drain dont take off enough and there is no stopping it from running out the water.

The positives. Big rooms, lot off activities on the hotel. Pool, tabletennis, billiards/snooker and big areas outside. Close to the sea.

To end this off

That this hotel is a 4 star is insane. Must be living on old greatness. I have lived at so many hotels during my life and rearly do i feel like i failed this much with my booking. For this price i would expect so much better. I paid 2000€ for 7 nights. I have no idea how some people give this 5star. It’s almost as i think it’s just bots commenting. Or They must be on their first vacation in years🤣 This hotel ruined alot off my nieces vacation with bad food, too much chlorine and just not willing to help out enough. Go for a 5star hotel and pay some bucks more.
