This hotel is located in a quiet and privileged position, between Alvor, Praia da Rocha, and the lively cosmopolitan city of Portimão. In the centre of Alvor, a few kilometres away, there are many shopping and entertainment venues, in addition, Faro Airport is less than 55 kilometers away from the hotel. The hotel is near magnificent beaches, such as the Alemão Beach, Vau Beach, Rocha Beach and Alvor Beach. In the surroundings there are three of the best golf courses in the Algarve: Alto Golf, the Palmares Golf and Penina Golf Course, in addition to various water parks and theme parks. All flats have the amenities required for a comfortable stay as home appliances and cozy furniture, spectacular views are available for some of them from the window.
Would highly recommend this hotel for families. We were a group of 2 families with 4 teenagers in total and everyone had a fantastic time. We stayed for 9 nights and I wish it was longer. The apartments were quite spacious and modern, good size balconies. Exceptionally clean. The complex is reasonably small which I prefer. The staff were all so lovely and kind and patient, my daughter even lost a (precious to her) earring and it was dropped into reception. The pool is a great size, not heated but once you are in it was lovely. We didn't have dinner in the restaurant but did eat lunches most days at the pool bar which did the job. There is a mini supermarket opened until 6 everyday in which you can buy most essentials, and floaties for the (big) kids! The location is a little bit out but download the Uber App and you are in either Alvor or Portimao in less than 5 minutes. The beach is maybe a 3 minute drive. Lovely restaurants in Portimao, would recommend Aura Alvor, which is Italian/Georgian. The food is sublime, very reasonably priced, family run and the staff are really lovely. We took a boat trip on a Catamaran from Portimao one afternoon which was great. There is a mini/crazy golf amenity in Alvor which was great to pass a few hours and bring out the competitive nature in some! Great shopping centre in Portimao also. We got Uber Eats delivered a few nights when we didn't want to eat out. I would definitely stay here again if returning to the area.
Pros. The staff bar one female bar maid were all friendly. Air conditioning is superb Pool was a perfect temperature.
Cons Food was awful. If youre self catering dont waste your money in the plaza bar. Its extortionate and the food is awful. Go a 5 min walk to Mel & canela and get better food at an actual fraction of the price. Location isnt great. Alvor a 5 minute journey in Bolt or Uber IF you can get one. Rooms are very basic. Towels only get changed every 2 days. Lifts are the slowest lifts ive ever used.
Very good hotel with a lot things to make and enjoy the stay
We booked a 5-night stay here as a family through British Airways Holidays, and honestly couldn’t have picked a better place.
From the moment we arrived, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. (we don’t speak a word of Portuguese) We arrived at around 2pm and were able to check straight into our apartment, which was a lovely way to start our holiday.
We had a one-bedroom apartment with a huge balcony. It was really spacious, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was a bonus, especially for breakfasts and snacks, large fridge and all the basics (top tip- take washing up liquid and sponge with you)
The welcome gift of a pastel de nata and a bottle of port was such a lovely touch.
The pool was lovely . It was a good size, really clean and, best of all… no sunbed wars! We wandered down at 2 or 3pm on a few days and still found plenty of sunbeds (bring your own pool towel)
.Just worth mentioning there’s no lifeguard, which is fine for us as our son is not a baby.
The snack pool bar was great, especially during happy hour, and the food was really good. There’s also a small shop on site, you can buy inflatables, food etc a gym and a laundry room.
We also loved that things like padel and mini golf were included.
The location was perfect for us. It’s about a 30-minute walk downhill into Alvor, or around €5 in a taxi or a Uber. I think there’s a local bus as well. There’s also a supermarket and a wonderful bakery within a few minutes’ walk, and Alto Golf Course is right next door.
We loved how peaceful it was. It was nice to be away from the busier parts of Alvor but still close enough to get there easily whenever we wanted.
We honestly couldn’t fault our stay and were already saying we’d come back.
Thank you to all the staff for making our family holiday such a memorable one.
We had a lovely stay at Vitors Plaza and really enjoyed our holiday. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The pool area was great, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and family-friendly. The location is convenient, with easy access to nearby beaches and restaurants. The only downside was that the rooms did not quite meet what we would expect from a 4-star hotel. They could benefit from some updating and refurbishment. However, they were clean, spacious, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Overall, we had a wonderful holiday and would happily recommend Vitors Plaza to anyone looking for good value, excellent service, and a pleasant place to stay in the Algarve.
