The Jupiter Marina Hotel was a lovely hotel, spotlessly clean, staff very nice and rooms had everything you needed.
The roof top pool and bar again very clean, but you had to cue every morning for a lounger or you would be disappointed as really there was not enough for the amount of people staying or you would have to use the couches at the bar.
The bar itself had plenty to offer drinks was was a tad expensive and unless you where prepared to walk to the Marina (behind the museum) there was not much around, the food at the pool bar again very nice but bit repetitive would have been nice to maybe have a daily special?
The breakfast of a morning was very good, live cooking station if you wanted different eggs or omlette, plenty of hot and cold selection and plenty of different drinks from teas, coffees and juices (take a refillable bottle as they have a cold water machine you can use to fill up for by the pool).
We didnt use the Spa facilities but we did use the changing area when we left and the gym, pool and Sauna looked very good and modern.
The location is on a bit of a hill but easily manageable, I would say its about 15/20min work into the beach area or in the daytime until 5.30pm they provide a bus which drops and picks up from the sister hotel by the beach which is very useful.
Would I stay again, yes I would but personally there isnt a lot in Portimão, Praia Du Rocha has a good strip of bars and restaurants but a bit repetitive, we did take a trip o Alvor which was about €6/7 in a Uber (€12 in a private taxi at the rank) and that was a very nice place.
All in all really nice relaxing holiday.
Just back from a week at this hotel bed & breakfast. Location wise it is in Portimao which is about a 15 min walk to the main part of Praia De Rocha - although the hotel runs a shuttle to the beach. About 10/15 stroll is the harbour at Portimao.
What makes the hotel is the staff, superb all of them.
Room - modern big balcony - comfy bed - min bar - safe
Dining - had brekfast which was nice - usual buffet style - egg station ( which was good as the laid out poached eggs were always solid ( so ask for fried ) - real orange juice from pressed oranges - plenty of cold and pastry options
Bar/Poo Area - infinity pool on 4th floor - loungers always very busy - fantastic bar table service - enterntainment at nights was the usual standard stuff
Use BOLT for getting in and round Portugal ( cheap as chips ) - Portimao station gets you to Lagos in 15 mins or Faro in an hour
Will defo return
My wife and I love this hotel. In a good location for access to Portimao, Praia da Rocha, Ferragudo and short taxi rides to Alvor and Silves. Can also jump on a train from Portimao to Lagos. Hotel is very clean, staff are great, breakfast has a good selection, rooms are nice. If anything I would avoid the rooms at the front of the hotel facing the road if you are a light sleeper. The road noise can be loud at times. Pool area is good if you can get a sunbed, which are limited, but the beach is a good alternative via the hotel transfer if you can’t be bothered walking 15 mins. This is our 4th visit, and doubt it will be our last.
Lovely hotel in fact stunning to be honest.10 min walk to beach very easy and nice walk no hills.and only 5 min to the harbour.Really nice beutiful clean stunning hotel rooftop bar and pool stunning in fact whole hotel stunning. All staff very friendly and helpful as well.
A lovely hotel - probably the cleanest I have ever stayed in. Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. The hotel is well situated as it is only a 15-minute walk from the beach and a 10-minute walk from the Old Town. For us, the food was pretty average and we were pleased that we had only booked on a B&B basis as there are plenty of other restaurants only a short walk away. The rooms were comfortable but it is worth making the most of the (free) pillow menu as this definitely improved the quality of our sleep. The gym was well appointed although can get quite busy in the mornings. We never made it up to the rooftop pool as it was always absolutely rammed with all the sun loungers taken from early on. Whilst you do have to pay extra for the indoor spa pool, it is well worth doing so as it is so quiet and relaxing. Overall a lovely hotel that I would be quite happy to stay in again.
