⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A place we’ll cherish forever
Waterlovers Resort will forever have a special place in our hearts. My fiancé, Chris, worked with the team to plan the most beautiful surprise engagement, and from the very beginning they were incredibly helpful, professional, and genuinely invested in making it a truly unforgettable experience.
Every detail was handled with such care, and the setting itself is simply breathtaking. The warmth and kindness of everyone at the resort made the entire experience feel so personal and special.
One of the things that touched us most was that the team even arranged a surprise engagement photoshoot with one of their photographers after the proposal. It was such an unexpected and thoughtful gesture, and thanks to them we now have beautiful photographs that we’ll treasure for the rest of our lives.
A very special thank you to Abdalla, who looked after us so wonderfully throughout our stay. His kindness, attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine smile made us feel completely at home. He anticipated our needs, always went the extra mile, and was a true ambassador for the exceptional hospitality at Waterlovers.
If you’re looking for a romantic escape or a place to celebrate a once-in-a-lifetime occasion, I cannot recommend Waterlovers Resort highly enough. They don’t just provide excellent service; they create unforgettable memories.

Asante Sana - Village & Giraffe
The kindness & accommodativeness of the staff made us feel at home instantly. It was an awesome week! We had a lot of fun &laughter with all waiters, security and especially the barkeepers (- including the best cocktails in Kenia of course) ❤️🍹🍻 Asante sana for collecting a lot of unforgetable moments with us and teaching me patiently Swahili :) Hakuna matata & maisha marefu 🍻 Also - Chakula tamu sana!!! The housekeeping did a great job as well, our rooms were always clean. Asante kwa kazi yako ngumu!

Beachside nirvana
A peaceful haven. Great waterfront location. Exceptional service and delicious seafood. The rooms are gorgeous with beautiful balconies overlooking the ocean. Great place to relax, read books and listen to the waves. Can’t recommend Waterlovers highly enough.

After the excitement of our first safari, there couldn't be a better place to unwind and soak in the beauty of the ocean and true hospitality . Truly unforgettable.
I got lost in the experience to find myself again
Have you ever just wanted to go somewhere where you didn't have to deal with anyone or anything for a few days? Did you just want to be able to sit back, relax, disconnect from the outside world and other people? Have you just wanted to have the opportunity to reconnect with yourself and see if you recognize you anymore? Well, this is the place for you!!!!
From the moment you walk through the gate of this property and you see the absolute pristine property in front of the backdrop of the Indian Ocean, you realize that the photos you saw online aren't photoshopped. You're sucked into beauty of the buildings, sand, and then you meet the people who are going to make this the best stay you've ever experienced.... anywhere.
The rooms are spotless, spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated to remind you where you are. The housekeeping staff are attentive and ensure you have everything you need. Don't worry about packing the shampoo and conditioner or hairdryer, it's already there.
The only thing I will caution you on is the hot water. It's REALLY hot; so make sure you test it before you get into the shower.
The reception staff are amazing and will greet you every morning with a smile and make sure you are happy if you need anything.
The restaurant is to die for. I went Half Board on the meal plan and I found it to be sufficient. The breakfast consists of a good selection of fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries, coffee and an a la carte menu to pick out your eggs or omelette. The chefs are amazing for breakfast but they'll knock your socks off with daily dinner specials or a delicious meal from their menu.
I've traveled to a lot of 4 or 5 star resorts and their food was good; BUT these chefs are consistently brilliant. I was there for 9 nights and I didn't have one bad anything food wise. They're simply awesome.
The servers are so attentive, because there's a very few people on the resort at any time. You get the best service from people who truly LOVE to make your experience the best it can be. It's the culture of the entire staff to ensure you're taken care of... consistently.
The groundskeepers and security staff ensure the picture perfect environment of the resort is maintained and that you feel safe and secure while you're there.
The Indian Ocean is beautiful and the water is clear and very swimmable. There's no need for swimming shoes, because the sand and ocean is beautiful.
Take the opportunity to ride the camels or watch the acrobatics of the beach boys. They're really talented and appreciate any tip you can give them when they do their show for you.
The Wi-Fi on the resort is excellent so you can stay as connected to the outside world as you want or need to.
The vendors on the beach will be ruthless in their pursuit to have you buy something from them, but that's their livelihood and they take it seriously. Be mindful and respectful to them and they are actually fun to talk with.
The management on the resort have done an amazing job at recruiting and more importantly retaining the staff that work with them. Some people have been there for a decade and I only found one person who had been there less than 5 years. That's a testament to management treating the staff with the same respect as the staff show the guests.
I really am so happy I found this resort and I would definitely return at some point. The big issue is the travel time from Alberta Canada to Diani Beach is a really long and somewhat expensive travel bill. Despite this, I am keeping this slice of paradise on my places to return to, at some point in time. If you haven't been there yet, once you get there you will see what I mean.
