We had a wonderful visit here as we wrapped up our Kenya vacation. We had a busy week with safaris and it was a wonderful way to end the trip at the Swahili Resort! The staff were friendly and helpful. The afternoon tea with crepes were delicious and the food was good. Plenty of food options and the rooms were great. We used the spa and had great experiences there too! The beach was a little rocky but the 9 pools gave you plenty of places to swim. Highly recommend.
The resort is incredibly large and beautiful! It has every amenity you could imagine, from specialty restaurants and a beach bar to multiple pools, business centers, and a spa ... it truly has everything in one place. The food was consistently delicious, and there was a great variety of drinks. Additionally, Diani Airport is very close by, which was very convenient.
The room was a dream: spacious, luxurious, with a pool view, and equipped with everything you might need. It was also very quiet and peaceful. The staff was incredibly friendly and cheerful, all dedicated to ensuring you have the best possible stay.
My husband had a massage at the spa and enjoyed it immensely; the professional and kind staff provided a wonderful experience in a separate area with a view of the sea.
I'll love to thank you waiter Adam boy for his kindness when attending our table one of the kindest and lovely person with the best customer service
This was my fifth visit to the hotel since 2016. While the physical structures/amenities have been maintained largely satisfactorily and the location is one of its best assets, hospitality has taken a beating and needs refinement.
From the check in process to the service at beach restaurant, majority of the staff we interacted with seemed to be on the spectrum of overwhelmed and confused to apathetic.
Check in was a struggle as much as they were kind enough to allow us go to the room earlier than the prescribed 3pm. We asked for the cost to upgrade to the next category room and the information on the amount to top up took over 30 minutes.
At the beach bar we asked for an apple pie for dessert which took over 45 minutes and still came out cold (despite us thinking the reason it took that long was because it was being baked fresh). Karisa, Niviah, William, Kennedy and Justin - probable exceptions as well as Juliet at the spa - very professional.
Moving on to housekeeping: we requested for face towels and I am dead serious when I say it took an hour for delivery to be made to the room.
That said, the room was spacious and shower amazing with great water pressure.
Meals - breakfast was great, amazing spread and most dishes done incredibly well. The salad we had at the beach bar for dinner was delectable too. Afternoon tea at Kahawa lounge never disappoints either.
Just bring back the sophistication. Please. For what its worth: we also interacted with other guests on our way to the airport who shared the same sentiments.
Terrible at communicating on email . Getting a confirmation is like pulling teeth even after payment. Calls largely go unanswered. Slow service . Forgot airport pick up. A mess
