There are better hotels than southern palms
When you check in, it’s all hunky dory, on check out, you’re an old rug that has been dealt with.
Honestly, this was my go to place for the past 3 years but I guess I’ll have to look for a new place. Good news is there’s a stretch of similar star hotels on that street!
I blame this on the new management as the previous guys were pretty awesome. But who am I to judge though I can choose where and how I spend my money.

Delightful Diani

After returning to Southern Palms Resort for the first time in 32 years, I can honestly say it was every bit as wonderful as I remembered.
We spent five glorious nights at this spectacular resort and were looked after exceptionally well by Mr. Phillipe and his outstanding team. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, the service was warm, friendly, and genuinely caring.
Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, with an excellent hot power shower. The food was fantastic, with an incredible variety at every meal—there was far more choice than anyone could possibly eat!
A very special thank you goes to Mercy, who truly is the heart and soul of Southern Palms. She couldn’t have done enough for us, always greeting us with a smile and going above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. She is an absolute credit to the resort.
Southern Palms remains a beautiful place to relax, with stunning grounds, a wonderful beach, and an atmosphere that makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive.
Returning after 32 years was incredibly special, and I sincerely hope it won’t be another 32 years before I’m lucky enough to visit again. Thank you to everyone at Southern Palms for making our stay so memorable—we can’t wait to return!

Stay clear from Hays Travel
I have been going to this resort for past 20 years, as I have severe disabilities I spent a long time going through booking with The Travel Store, Shropshire.SR1 3PE, I requested and booked Ground Floor Room on arriving at hotel 4 am June 4th I was told I had booked 1st floor room, this was 2 flights stairs so two men helped me up and had to accept this room for this night only. Following morning managed to meet General Manager Phillipe Dupont and after much proof and discussion was given ground floor room. It transpired Hays Travel had put on their copy to hotel Single Room even though all travel Agents paper work pointed out passenger requests Ground Floor with wheelchair assistance at all airports. II have dealings with Hays Travel from November 2022 when my sister and I flew to Arizona to say our last goodbyes to our brother who died two months later, our flight from Los Angeles was cancelled and we were put up in "the pits" when NYPD police ask what you are doing there I say no more, We get no replies to telephones calls, emails or letters so less I hear their name the better. Southern Palms is an excellent hotel all staff from gardeners to room service, restaurants reception etc are fantastic and God willing I will be back there as I cant recommend it enough. Anne Owen
Amazing holiday
This is a fab hotel all of the staff are amazing from the reception to the cleaners. The rooms were clean, quite and comfortable we had room 277 which seemed to have a slightly bigger balcony, The gardens and pool areas well maintained with lots of shady spots, plenty of sunbeds and parasols. I would have given this a 5 star review but we felt neglected because of a large Indian wedding they just didnt seem to have enough staff on duty for those few days, the ones they had were working very hard to keep everyone happy ( fed and watered etc) . The owners are Indian so you look after your own. Ill finish on a high note as part of our package we had the most amazing 4 day safari stayed in some fab lodges and the animal, just seeing them in there natural habitat was so beautiful I cried tears of joy. Will definitely return at some point. The Kenyan people are lovely people .
Service above and beyond !
Just spent 10 days here after our safari. Great location on the beach (although local vendors can be quite persistent) Lovely atmosphere, especially near the quiet pool. Plenty of choice at the buffet restaurant, especially for vegetarian and curry lovers. All staff were polite, helpful and friendly. A big shout out to Winnie (the pooh) and Mercie from customer relations, extremely helpful. Brendan Wangila and Josephine Kimberley were just the best.tri
