We chose Leopard Beach Resort expecting a luxury experience, especially after paying a premium price for a two-bedroom pool villa. Unfortunately, our stay fell far short of expectations. After arriving early in the morning following an overnight flight, we were told our rooms were not ready and were asked to wait for coffee. Since we had booked all-inclusive, we assumed breakfast would be included, but were told it only starts after check-in and that the missed breakfast would be replaced by breakfast on departure day. In reality, when we left at 7 a.m., there was almost nothing available apart from coffee and toast. The biggest disappointment was the villa itself. There was a strong smell of sewage as soon as we entered. The furniture was worn, curtains and chairs were stained, the pool pump was broken, there was visible mould on the bedroom walls, and paint was peeling in several areas. A staff path through the garden also removed any sense of privacy. None of this is acceptable in accommodation sold at premium prices. To her credit, Rosie, the Head of Housekeeping, was excellent and personally helped move us to another villa. We are very grateful for her professionalism and care. We also want to mention Juma, our housekeeper, who went out of his way every day to make us comfortable. The main pool was also disappointing. When we asked for towels, we were given damp, stained towels that appeared to have been reused from sun loungers. We did not feel comfortable using the pool area again. The restaurant service was also below standard. Drink orders were taken after we were seated, but many times we had to reorder more than once as we were forgotten about. On several evenings there were no clean plates or even small spoons available, and wine was repeatedly served in sparkling wine glasses rather than proper wine glasses. What made this especially frustrating is that the staff themselves were wonderful. Every employee we met was friendly, hardworking and genuinely tried their best. The problems seem to come from poor maintenance, lack of investment and weak management rather than the staff. After being moved, the second villa was cleaner and better kept, although the beds were still old and uncomfortable. Even so, it was a clear improvement over the first villa. As someone with over 30 years of hotel management experience, I did not write this lightly. Leopard Beach Resort has a beautiful location and excellent people, but it is living on its past reputation. Before asking people to vote for them in the World Awards, they really need to renovate and bring the hotel up to an acceptable standard. Sadly, with the current state of the hotel, I would highly recommend not to vote.
We have just come back off an amazing holiday at this gorgeous hotel have no complaints whatsoever. Our room was lovely. Clean and tidy with a lovely view of the garden The staff were absolutely amazing, extremely helpful and always smiling. The food was fabulous something for everyone..
The animation team were brilliant. Would’ve liked a bit more music around the pool throughout the day.. The poolside restaurant was fabulous pizza pasta burgers, ice cream, fresh fruit if you didn’t want to go up to the main restaurant the food here was great. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kenya. Right on the beach too,
All I can say this is the best hotel in Diani Kenya staff were great entertainment was great food alcohol, the villas are very very nice with nice pools I really loved it there. Everyone should go there and don't forget to vote for them the deserve the award 🏅. Thank you for nice experience
I had a lovely time with my family. The staff were all polite and kind and very helpful. The food was of a good standard with plenty of options, but found that we seemed to only be allowed one drink per meal. We stayed in the villas and loved having an outdoor pool which was kept to a good standard by the staff, we spent most of our stay using it. Unfortunately, we felt uncomfortable at the beach, this was not the fault of the staff. We found great service at the beach, but as we were heading to the sea we felt quite harassed by the people selling stuff, to the point they followed us into the ocean. Think this was because we weren’t a family with older men with us. Overall a good experience would go back but would stay away from the beach.
