Bliss Hoi An Beach Resort and Wellness

Very kind, helpful, and welcoming staff. We had such a wonderful time at Bliss Resort. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted and offered a welcome drink and towel while we waited to be checked in. The hotel is very clean and cozy and has everything you need. The territory is beautiful and quiet. Palm trees and greenery all around. Very nice to take a walk. The king ocean view was spacious and comfortable, and the view was breathtaking. Would definitely recommend!

Not only are the gardens beautiful, but so was the view of the sea from the 4th story ocean view villa. The food was sensational and we appreciated the reasonable cost of the food in the restaurant and bars . Wow to a delicious breakfast. The BEST thing about the resort was the staff . They were so so helpful from the private driver from Hoi An to Bliss, to the reception, the friendly and wonderful cleaners and of course the bar staff who we chatted to every day . I recommend getting up at 5am and seeing the sunrise and walking on the beach to see the locals bring in their night catches and also for a but if luxury the spa . The bike ride was fun even though it was sooo hot . Im so sad to leave but have wonderful memories .

STAFF: Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly and helpful Buu. Throughout our stay, all staff at the front desk were extremely nice, efficient and spoke English very well. Lam was a standout with her smile and lovely personality. Any query we had was dealt with by reception, and we could always book a hotel shuttle bus into Hoi An town centre. We found all staff throughout the hotel to be pleasant and helpful, especially at breakfast.

SHUTTLE: The hotel had several runs each day to Hoi An town centre and return services. These were free and greatly appreciated. You do need to book these in advance and the transport there was between 30 and 40 minutes, depending on the traffic.

ROOMS: We stayed in an ocean view deluxe room. The room was beautifully furnished, light and large. The bathroom was big with a large shower with great water pressure and fast hot water. There was a separate bath. The bathroom amenities were restocked daily and housekeeping did a great job cleaning our room. Two bottles of water were supplied each day, as well as a stocked fridge, with room to add your own drinks. Room service for food operated 24 hours a day.

LOCATION: The Bliss hotel is located on a nice stretch of beach in Hoi An. As it is on the beach, it is not in Hoi An’s town centre, which we knew in advance, and with the hotel’s shuttle bus, this compensated not being in town. Outside the hotel is a street used mainly by locals and if you walk down the street away from the beach and turn left, there is a small shop that does laundry (30k dong per kilo) and a small shop after that, that sells drinks. My suggestion to the Bliss is to add a small mini mart onsite that stocks drinks and snacks, as hotel guests would benefit using this and would pay slightly higher than local shop’s prices.

If you like foot or back massages, Hoi An has plenty to choose from. We found the massages to be much gentler than Thai massages. There is a street in Hoi An that has a bigger concentration of massages - Phan Boi Chau street (5 – 10 minute walk from the hotel’s drop off point). We particularly enjoyed going to Kim Spa who were lovely and did great massages.

POOL: The pool was clean and large. It was so nice to go to a beach hotel that didn’t have hotel guests reserving chairs at the crack of dawn. We never had a problem finding a seat and the cushions on the chairs were clean and well looked after. There is a pool bar outside, but next to the pool and they do food and drinks which can be ordered and served to your sun chair. There is no spa in the pool, but it was large and accommodated all guests. The water in the pool was a little hot in June.

FOOD: Breakfast at the hotel was terrific. Each day they mixed up the fruit beverages. The food had a great variety and was fresh, and the wait staff were delightful. We ate dinner at one of their dinner buffets which was good value and again, the food was very good. Drinks and food at the hotel were well priced for a hotel of this standard.

RESORT: The hotel blocks and villas were spaced out well over the property. The gardens were beautiful and the gardeners worked hard in the sweltering heat. The resort was well maintained and designed tastefully and elegantly. TOURS: We chose to use the hotel’s tours which were on offer. They were well organised and on each tour we were the only ones, with the hotel car and a tour guide. We did notice that some of the tours which you can book with external partners would not pick up from the Bliss hotel, so using their tours was a viable option.

Overall we loved our 9 night stay (in June) at the Bliss hotel. The staff, the rooms, the charm of Hoi An and the great weather all made our stay memorable and truly enjoyable. We would happily return to this hotel and recommend this to others who want to explore Vietnam.
