Timeless Luxury on Pansea Beach
Our five days at The Surin Phuket were nothing short of wonderful. From the moment we arrived and were shown to our room overlooking Pansea Beach and the Andaman Sea, the experience only kept getting better.
The property itself is truly special. Designed in the understated, timeless style that made architect Ed Tuttle so celebrated, The Surin blends beautifully into the hillside, coconut groves, and shoreline rather than competing with it. Perched above the stunning Pansea Beach, which is shared only with neighbouring Amanpuri, the setting feels wonderfully secluded and private, with some of the most serene views in Phuket. What truly elevated the stay, however, was the warmth of the people. Every member of staff we encountered, from the breakfast restaurant team including Nana, Dada, Mild and Mai, to the buggy staff, beach team, games area staff and reception, made us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay. The hospitality felt effortless, attentive and sincere.
Breakfast each morning became one of the highlights of our day. The combination of an excellent buffet spread alongside a thoughtfully curated à la carte menu, all enjoyed with sweeping beach views, made for such a relaxed and memorable start to every morning.
We spent our days alternating between chasing waves on the boogie boards, swimming in the warm sea, and simply unwinding on the sunbeds listening to the sound of the ocean. Even though two of the five days brought a little rain, the beauty and atmosphere of the property meant we still made the absolute most of our time there.
A special mention also to the spa, where my wife had a wonderful massage experience and came away deeply appreciative of both the treatment and the service.
Overall, The Surin Phuket delivered exactly what a great beach resort should: tranquillity, warmth, understated luxury and a setting that is difficult to leave behind. A truly memorable stay and somewhere we would happily return to.
Stay here
Fantastic resort. We chose a superior cottage #321 and it was perfect for us. An easy walk to breakfast, an easy golf cart ride to the main gate. (A little bonus is room 321 has a short cut via golf cart)
Resort is close enough to walk to shops and restaurants and we did a few times to get the feel of local life but most of the time we spent at the resort enjoying and relaxing.
The 2IC Andrew made us welcome and the whole staff were so courteous and polite. Even though we never got to swim in the ocean (The red flags we out for the whole time we were there) the pool was perfect and because it was wet season we had it to ourselves most of the time.

Always good.
The Surin is an independent hotel that works hard to anticipate and satisfy guest demands. Good for quiet quality time with the family. Not a party hotel. The Surin has the best staff and beach of any hotel we have stayed in Phuket and is our preferred hotel there.

Best 5 * luxury boutique hotel in Phuket at Surin Beach
This is the third time we have stayed at The Surin in 5 years.
It is a good as it has always been - service, beautiful Cottages perched on the side of the hill overlooking the private white sand beach all with panoramic sea veiws. All rooms overlook the sea and are separated well away from each for privacy.
Rooms are very big with ample storage for a 2 week holiday. All rooms have a large private balcony with 2 sum loungers and own umbrella.

Aircon works perfectly (very powerful and cold) and has a permanent extraction system to prevent smells and condensation.
We have never have an issue with sun loungers at the beach or pool. The beach is very close to the rooms - a little walk from all rooms down steps . directly to beach.
It never feels crowded or that you need to wake up early to reserve a bed . This is one of the many reasons it is and feels like a Deluxe Luxury hotel.
The breakfast spread is very good with an Asian counter that changes dishes every day so it is not repetitive .
The two French managers Thomas and Andrew are still here from our last trip 3 years ago and we recognise many staff which is a great sign of a well run and company with low staff turnover. Always a reassuring sign of staff welfare and continuity. The managers are around all day, making sure that everything is run ship shape.
No mosquitos! They fumigate weekly so we have not even needed to use mosquito repellent and it’s the rainy season which is normally the worst for mosquitos. I am normally bitten to death at some other hotels but not here.
The beach is outstanding. It has white fine sand and as it’s sort of in a cove, there are no stones, seaweed and twigs. there is literally not one piece of seaweed - just pure clean fine sand. The beach is shallow until quite far out so it feels safe for swimmers.
Pool is heated and warm. I won’t get into most pools but this is heated to a very warm temperature that even I don’t mind getting in 😁

Absolutely everything about The Surin Phuket is excellent. The location, the rooms/cottages, the staff, the food/drinks, the beach, the pool, everything... it's all first class!
