This stylish all villa-style resort is set within extensive tropical gardens leading down to Friendship Beach with stunning views across Chalong Bay. Located on Phuket's less developed and tranquil south east coast the resort is 45 minutes drive from the airport and just 15 minutes from Phuket town. The detached villas are scattered among the gardens and include 72 Deluxe Villas measuring a generous 72 square meters complete with separate dressing area, large bathroom with outdoor rain shower and private terrace with sunbeds. All villas come equipped with king-size bed, air-conditioning, minibar, tea & coffee making facilities, IDD telephone, high speed Internet access, safety deposit box, flat screen TV with satellite and DVD player. Offering a choice of 2 restaurants and 2 bars the resort prides itself on its food quality using organic produce; guests can choose to dine at Baan Vijitt a Portuguese style house serving authentic Thai cuisine or The Savory offering a choice of cuisines close to the beachfront. Resort facilities include a large infinity edged lap pool overlooking the beach, the V Spa offering an extensive range of treatments and a large Kids Club.

Friendly Team, but Property Needs Modernisation
We booked five nights at The Vijitt Resort Phuket but decided to check out after one night.
The resort has a peaceful atmosphere and the staff were consistently warm and welcoming, but overall the experience didn’t quite match what we expected from a 5‑star property.
Our villa was spacious and clean, though it felt dated and would benefit from some refurbishment. The wooden decking outside was worn and uneven in places, and the air‑conditioning unit was quite loud and appeared to operate on a single speed, which made it difficult to sleep comfortably. The interiors, while tidy, felt tired, and the outdoor shower wasn’t ideal for us, especially if you’re prone to mosquito bites.
The grounds feel a bit tired and could use updating to bring the property back in line with its advertised standard. With some investment, the resort could regain the charm it likely had when it first opened.
In hindsight, the pricing should have indicated that the resort might not be positioned at the level we anticipated, and unfortunately the stay didn’t fully align with our expectations.

We left after 1 day
We left after one night. The reason was it wasn’t right for a family trip. Firstly the resort is more a collection of villas with no access to any other amenities such as shops or restaurants outside the resort. Secondly, the beach located just beyond the grounds, was unusable (recommended by the receptionist), as it was too rocky and tidal. So with no sea to swim in, no restaurants apart the resort we felt marooned in a hilly silence. We were informed the hotel was housing just over 50 guests, the atmosphere was empty, there was almost nothing to do except drink at the bar (which was also empty) and swim in the pool (which was also empty). The rooms were slightly strange due to the box like feel and when you left the room the air conditioning would switch off and you’d return to your room in an oven like state. We found a frog in the room and one in the bathroom, they were removed however I noticed they may have entered through the strangely located outside shower. The hotel offered a free trip to a local beach however the timings were odd. If you want to go anywhere it will be by cash taxi and that will add a considerable amount of money, time and anxiety to your holiday. I have no idea who would want to stay in a resort that has no sea swimming, no walking to areas of interest and is too hilly and needs a golf cart! I am 48 and had to take my shoes off to walk the steep slopes as felt I’d fall. However, this is a 2 star review because the pool was great, staff super friendly and it had probably the best view I’ve ever seen at a hotel. This hotel is great if you want to stay in the hotel your entire trip without swimming in the sea. If you are thinking of booking with a family, young children, teenagers or the elderly DO NOT GO HERE.

Trip of a lifetime
The Vijitt Resort location is beach front witg fantastic views across the bay. There is a very relaxed atomsphere with all members of staff very friendly and attentive. We stayed in Villa 85 which had its own infinity pool, the room was big and had everything you need in it, on arrival we asked for an Iron and ironing board and within 5 mins it was delivered to our room. The villa was spotless and bed linen was changed daily, Our entire stay here was fantastic 10 out of 10.

Perfect for a quiet getaway
A great spot for a quiet getaway. It’s well-located for both sides of the island and for Phuket City. It’s on a busy road so you need to take a cab to get anywhere (Bolt is cheap though).
The 40m swimming pool with a great view to sea is a highlight. The decor was a little dated but the beds are very comfortable. The staff are keen to help but many had basic English meaning it was tricky to strike up more than basic conversations (Maria in the restaurant spoke exceptional English).

Total Relaxation
We’ve stayed at The Vijitt Resort Phuket many times, and it continues to capture our hearts every single visit. The moment you step onto the grounds and look out toward Chalong Bay, there’s this incredible sense of calm — the kind that washes over you and makes you instantly forget the rest of the world. The villas are spacious and private, wrapped in lush greenery, but it’s the views out to sea that stay with us long after we leave. Watching the tide roll in, the light changing across the water, and those soft early‑morning colours is genuinely soul‑stirring. The resort’s peaceful atmosphere is a huge part of why we keep returning, but the people make it unforgettable. Khun Lyly and Khun Maria are exceptional. They welcome us with such warmth and sincerity that it feels like coming home. Their kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care elevate every stay and make each visit feel special. If you’re looking for a place where the scenery moves you, the service feels heartfelt, and the whole experience leaves you refreshed and grateful, The Vijitt is truly something special. We can’t wait to return again.
