This five-star resort is located at the quiet beachfront in Patong area, Phuket. Oceanfront Beach Resort is for those wanting to be away from the hustle and bustle of Patongs main strip but close enough to visit it with a very short trip to the town center. FREE shuttle bus to Patong every 30 minutes and much more.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The rooms were big and clean The view was amazing The staff were friendly and helpful The breakfast was amazing The location is a bit problematic Cause it's a bit far from the patong but they have shuttles and the taxis prices are low as well so it wasn't an issue
Very bad guest service in the front office. The cleanliness is just terrible. Adding one photo just at the time of check in , in the lobby. You can imagine the cleanliness in the hotel.
I’ve stayed in many hotels over the years — from 3-star to luxury 5-star resorts — and unfortunately this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. In my opinion, this hotel is nowhere near a true 5-star standard; at best it feels like a 2–3 star property.
The biggest issue was cleanliness: multiple rooms had ants in the cabinets and even cockroaches. I completely understand seeing mosquitoes or small insects in tropical weather, but cockroaches and ant infestations inside several rooms are simply unacceptable. I was moved between 3–4 different rooms and the problem continued every time.
Reception and room service were also extremely frustrating, as they rarely answered the phone when assistance was needed.
The atmosphere was also far from family-friendly. There were many heavily intoxicated guests around the property, and the walls were so thin I could literally hear my neighbors’ conversations, movements… and even their farts. That says enough about the soundproofing quality.
When I finally requested a refund so I could leave and book another hotel, they insisted on charging a very large cancellation deduction, almost half of what I had paid, despite the ongoing room issues.
Very disappointing experience overall.
This one is clearly not a 5 star property. At best, it can be considered a 4 star property only. They have a lot of good things, and equally they have a lot of not-so-good things as well. I stayed in Ocean Room Partial Seaview with Balcony and Bathtub.
Pros: The property is well located, near the beach and many restaurants are also nearby. Convenience stores are within walking distance. Trip to Patong beach takes hardly 10 mins by car. Rooms are spacious and well lit. View from the room was also pretty decent. In-room dining was good. Loved their grilled chicken and pizzas. Both were very well prepared. Swimming pools are neat and clean. They have 3 swimming pools, plus an outdoor jacuzzi as well just next to the pool. One of the pools is for kids and has a water slide too. 2 bars are also available just next to the 2 bigger pools, one of which is an infinity pool. Kids play area was really good with ample options for a child to play almost the whole day. Breakfast spread is vast and has both veg and non-veg options, including some Indian options too. View of the beach from the room and from the swimming pool area is simply breath taking. If it is raining, it gets even better.
Cons: The lifts are somewhat far from the rooms which have a sea-view. None of the staff who do room-service speak English. A big hazard. Plus wastes a lot of time. First you to communicate to the front desk about your requirement, who in turn communicate to the room-service guys, and when they arrive with incomplete stuff, it really is a task to let them know what you want and what is missing. Or you have to dial the front desk again and then wait again for them to arrive. A real hazard. The TV in our room was not functional from day 1. Although an engineer was sent to rectify it and he changed the TV altogether, but still, from next days onwards, the TV wasn't working. I gave up. The telephone set in the room was very smelly. I told the room-service about it. But they did nothing about it. The shuttle bus facility (to and fro for Patong beach) was a sham. They pick you up and drop you at Patong beach, but there's no one to pick you up from there and get you back to the hotel. It was quite frustrating. It was raining that evening. I along with my family, including my wife and 3 year old daughter, stood in the rain for more than 1 hour waiting for the shuttle to pick us up, but they didn't show up. I ultimately had to return to the hotel by tuktuk for which I paid 250 Baht. Hotel compensated me for the same for 200 Baht since they had some stupid policy that they will only be able to compensate 200 Baht if we miss the shuttle back to the hotel, irrespective of how much amount we had paid to get back. Breakfast spread is same on all days. No change whatsoever. A big big let down. Tiny winy changes could have added some brownie points, but none of the items were changed. Indian veg options were not at all tasty. In simple words, they just don't know how to cook any indian dish. Since I had lost my trust on the shuttle bus facility, and from that day on, I travelled by taxi only to Patong beach, I decided to let the management know about this. First, the front-desk manager was not available whenever I tried to reach her. When I did catch her, after 2 days, she very bluntly told me on my face that "you are coming after 2 days, why", and that thing was pretty rude. Her name is Ms. Laila. The moment she spoke to me in that manner, I lost my cool and told her that they are not doing a good job at all. I was promised a lot of things by their reservation team during booking, but same did not reciprocate during my stay. She even walked away in the middle of the conversation which was again quite rude. I walked away too to my room deciding I should better check out from this hotel. But immediately after I reached my room, Ms. Laila called to inform that she has spoken to the management and they are ready to compensate me with 2000 Baht for the inconvenience that I have experienced. I appreciated to what they did. And I told her I am not looking for compensation. I am looking for better service. She said she will inform everybody to improve their service levels. New day, but same old story. Things didn't change. The last 3 days went in the same way like the first 3 days. I never went back to their management or the front desk. And I decided to use the compensation as well. Used it against the in-room dining bills. Also, at the time of booking, I had opted for an early-check in option which they were providing against payment. I did that because my flight was landing at 7.30am and their standard check-in hours are from 3pm. I paid about 2000 Baht extra for the same. On top of this , I requested if they could give me an upgrade to Ocean Comfy room, which they simply declined. The hotel was not completely booked which was clearly visible. They could have done it considering I was staying with them for 6 nights, but they decided not to. Great.
Overall, an ordinary stay. I was blown away on day 1 when I checked-in but everything went down-hill from there on. The staff is simply not very friendly. Plus no-english speaking room service team is a big big problem which they are simply not understanding. I would not recommend this property.
I am very disappointed with the service provided by this hotel.
During my stay, I kept a pair of my New Balance shoes in my room. As we were staying at a beach destination, we mostly wore slippers and did not use the shoes during the trip. However, when I checked out, I discovered that my shoes were missing from the room.
Normally, housekeeping staff would not throw away guests’ personal belongings, especially a pair of shoes, which is a noticeable item and clearly not rubbish.
I immediately informed the hotel and was told that they would review the CCTV footage. The receptionist staff were rude . it has been more than a month, and despite several follow-ups, I have still not received any update.
Waiting for over a month without any explanation or progress is unacceptable. The lack of communication and follow-up is extremely disappointing.
I am sharing this experience so that other guests can be more cautious with their personal belongings while staying here.
