- Meir Jarr Hotel

Just a 10-minute walk from the nightlife entertainment venues of the city, the numerous shopping centres and Patong Beach, this hotel welcomes its guests with its exquisite décor, inspired by the traditional Northern Thai style, and fantastic amenities like the stunning rooftop swimming pool with sun lounges, a poolside bar and an amazing view of the Andaman sea. The individual rooms also have views from the private balconies or terraces. The sleek elegant interior of the restaurant is an excellent setting for both a filling breakfast in the morning and a delicious romantic dinner after a day of adventures.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Extremely good value for money. Located in a quieter part of Patong with a short 5 minute walk to the beach. Clean, spacious rooms. The best feature is the rooftop pool. All times of day it’s a destination in itself!
One issue we encountered was a 500THB deposit to be paid in cash at check in. This was not disclosed anywhere at all when we booked. No issue paying it as it’s returned when you check out assuming no damages have occurred but Meir Jarr should make you aware of this before arriving. Also no footpath on route to the beach/main town.
Do not stay at this property! They will find things to charge you at the end - con artists.
We were asked to pay for a glass, bed sheets and a bath mat. We refused and we’re followed to our taxi and hounded for the money, blocking the taxi from leaving by rude staff!
In the end we had to pay 300b (they wanted 1300b) just so the taxi could leave as the Thai taxi driver was refusing to leave and asking us to vacate a pre-arranged, pre-paid taxi. All in all a very scary, unpleasant experience all caused by staff and a hotel that want to rip off their customers.
Do not recommend and do not stay here!
We arrived this morning, walking to the room there was a tonne of women’s hair all over the stairs up to the room. Not very hygienic. We got into the room and within 5 minutes of having the air con on there was a strong smell of weed coming through which only got stronger. We are here with a 2 year old so absolutely not appropriate. We decided to head to the pool area, there are loose tiles on the only part of the pool that our toddler can actually stand and some of these tiles had come off and were still resting on the seat so quite easy to cut yourself on if not careful. We asked for a refund after about 15 minutes in this hotel which has been refused. I have asked to speak to a manager, again this has been refused. Absolutely no way is this hotel worth the £1,500 we have been charged!!!!! Outraged.
The hotel is clean overall, however don't plan on going to the swimming pool, there are only a few deckchairs for six floors of rooms, it is permanently inaccessible, a shame to pay not to have access to this pool
Just back from a 10 night stay at this hotel and In all honesty this hotel is amazing from the moment I checked in and until the moment I check out I was always greeted with a smile from the staff they truly amazing
Room was brilliant I was in room 605 the bed was comfortable and my room was cleaned every single day. I was at the side of the hotel the views were amazing i could see the sea from my balcony
Overall this hotel was amazing and I definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone. I hope to be in Thailand soon again and will definitely be returning to this hotel
