Fantastic Spot in Patong, Though Renovations Hold It Back
We spent five nights at DoubleTree by Hilton Phuket Banthai Resort with our infant daughter. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but there are a few key areas that future guests should keep in mind.
Pros:
- Location: Unbeatable! directly across from Patong Beach and within short walking distance to local nightlife, dining, and shops.
- Staff & Service: The team was warm, accommodating, and very hospitable throughout our stay, which made traveling with a baby much easier.
- Amenities: We really enjoyed the pool area, and the daily breakfast provided a solid, delicious selection to start the day.
- Rooms: While on the smaller side, the room was comfortable and well-kept.
Cons:
- Renovation Disturbance: There was active renovation work during our stay, causing noticeable dust and noise that caused some inconvenience.
- Missed Opportunities for Delight: Given that the hotel did not appear fully occupied, it was a bit disappointing that no room upgrade or extra gesture was offered to help offset the noise disturbance. A little flexibility here would have significantly elevated the experience.
It’s a solid resort with a fantastic team and location, but once the renovations are fully wrapped up, the guest experience will be much better.

Great central location in Patong, convenient walking access to the beach, eateries and shopping!
This hotel has a very good location in the heart of Patong, easy access to the shops, Patong Beach and walking distance to Junkceylon Mall and Central World Phuket. The hotel it has tree different wings/buildings each one it has swimming pool which very nice and each has building has four floors. One wing is currently under renovation so best to request rooms away from the noise and dust. The lobby area is an open style atrium with high ceiling and has a coffee bar on the middle, very stylish and welcoming. My experience as a Diamond member was not pleasant but with the help of duty manager Khun Pim everything was solved quickly and professionally unlike her front desk colleague. I have stayed a few time in this hotel, highly recommended in spite of the arrival incident. Had a good swim in the nearby beach just 5 mins ago walk away across the main beach street. and used the swimming pool. Recommend to go For a swim or walk on the beach during sunset you will find lots activities people playing football, beach volleyball, paragliding, etc, a very nice atmosphere for couples, families or friends hanging out together. At night take a stroll along Bangla Walking Street full of live band, bars and adult entertainment. The next day we had the breakfast buffet, it was very nice full of Muslim friendly (halal food stations) , good variety which caters to Middle East, Chinese, Indian and Western guests . Phuket is a great holiday destination easy shopping the only need one hour or more to reach to the hotel from the airport ( depending on traffic and time of the day).

An Unforgettable Birthday Stay with Exceptional Hospitality
We had a girls’ trip to celebrate our birthday month and stayed at this hotel for three nights. We had a wonderful experience from beginning to end.
Our first impression was excellent, thanks to the warm welcome from K. Kate at the front desk. She was very friendly and welcoming, and all the staff were incredibly helpful. They even recognized my birthday and surprised me with a lovely room decoration without me making any special request. It was such a thoughtful gesture.
On our second night, we visited the beer bar and had a great time. K. Mimi and K. Alex provided friendly and attentive service. To my surprise, the staff brought me a birthday cake and sang “Happy Birthday.” It was another unforgettable moment that made my celebration even more special.
We also enjoyed relaxing by the pool, where K. Tony at the pool bar took great care of us with excellent service. The breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options, and everything we tried was tasty.
Thank you to the entire team for your warm hospitality and for making me feel not just like a guest, but like I was at home. You truly made my 33rd birthday celebration so memorable and meaningful.
Keep up the excellent work! We will definitely be back again.
Great location mediocre property
The hotel is pretty rundown. Some of the rooms are upgraded so make sure you get an upgraded room. While we were staying there, they put us in part of the hotel that has construction. We had to complain and they moved us. On the other side, the location is fantastic centrally located and near everything

Some comments below. Breakfast: - minimum meat selection, steam dim sum is not hot Room:
- no pen & note paper , knife & plate in room
- housekeeping should be completed earlier ( e.g before 2:00pm)
Bar:
- the bottle white wine in not cool enough
