Two weeks in Patong
This is the first time I have stayed at the Amata Hotel in downtown Patong. I have been to Patong three times previously. This hotel has a great position being right on the main street and one street back from the beach. It is easy walking to everything and everywhere. The staff here are what make this hotel. Everyone is typical Thai, polite kind and very helpful. Tidity the supervisor of the front office is superb and runs very efficiently. Molly who serviced my room for the two weeks of my stay was excellent to the point on my second to last day surprised me with an elephant with my towels. Om who runs the Tour Desk provided excellent guidance on which tours to take and every one of them was excellent. Will I come to Patong again, yes for sure. Will I stay here at the Amata for that stay, absolutely.

Hotel staff
Hotel is not atall cooperative. Am travelling with two daughters and so wanted to have a connecting room. After a lot of requests,they agreed to give me room after 2 days,but they pressurissed us to checkme out before 12 and asked me to check in around 3 pm,in between no rooms to stay. We requested to give us 1 room, but they were very arrogant in giving us 1 single room also. We hae been to Thailand and to Phuket earlier also. But this type of behaviour we have never seen. We feel other hotels are cooperative.
