The hotel is close to the beautiful Nai Yang Beach. A variety of restaurants and bars are located nearby and Phuket town, with its shopping and nightlife opportunities, is a 40-minute drive from the resort. Facilities include a lobby with 24-hour reception, hotel safe, currency exchange, cloakroom, a café, bar and restaurant, a hairdressing salon, a games room, conference facilities, and Wi-Fi. Guests can also use the room and laundry services. Parking facilities are available. Younger guests will love the playground and the kids club, with large screen televisions and computers.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Great Hotel and closed to Phuket airport easier to get to the pier to Koh Yao Noi
My stay exceeded expectations and I enjoyed a memorable holiday. Every interaction, from your airport arrival through to our Front Office, Tin Mine, Rivet, and Black Ginger teams, reflected the level of genuine hospitality The Slate team strive to provide.
I recommend The Slate without reservation.
Families, Read This Before Booking
We recently stayed at The Slate for three nights as a family of four and, overall, had a very enjoyable stay. The resort is stunning, with beautiful tropical gardens, unique architecture and a relaxing atmosphere. Our family suite was spacious, comfortable and perfect for travelling with young children.
The staff were one of the highlights of our stay. From the warm welcome with flowers and drinks on arrival to the smooth check-out and airport transfer, everyone was friendly, professional and genuinely helpful. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety of fresh, high-quality food.
There were a few issues during our stay. Unfortunately, the air conditioning did not work properly on our first night, making it difficult to sleep. The staff responded quickly, apologised and kindly provided us with a complimentary meal, which we appreciated.
Families should also be aware that some of the resort’s pools are adults-only. This is explained on the website, but we had overlooked it when booking. The adults-only pools include some of the resort’s most eye-catching features, such as the spa-style bubble jets and impressive water features shown in many promotional photos. The family pool is still enjoyable, but it is a simpler pool, so we were a little disappointed that we couldn’t experience those signature areas together as a family.
We also found a small piece of plastic in our daughter’s burger during dinner. The restaurant staff handled the situation very professionally by apologising immediately, replacing the meal and bringing fresh fruit, which we appreciated.
No hotel is perfect, and what impressed us most was how the staff responded whenever something went wrong. Their service and attitude were excellent throughout our stay.
Despite the few issues we experienced, we had a memorable family holiday and would happily stay at The Slate again. If you’re travelling with children, it’s simply worth being aware of the adults-only pool areas before booking.
Another great time at the Slate. The staff really made our stay enjoyable, from Aye at front desk, Choong and Tan from Tin Mine, Boy from the Pool, Kamen from the Leisure centre. Fantastic Thai food experience at the Black Ginger with chef Piak making delicious sampler of Thai cuisine. We had a wonderful birthday celebration there. As it was our 3rd visit in 3 years, we were welcome by a little treat: a bottle of sparkling wine with fruits and seeets all set in our room before our arrival, with a kind note from the hotel, showing how this hotel is caring about us.
The location was perfect as a restful stopover. The environment was lush, the rooms immaculate and comfy. It was a wonderful atmosphere to rest and relax in. The service at all of the venues was excellent. The amenities were excellent. There was a lot to do within the resort from cooking classes to floral arranging. We did the cooking class which was such fun. The beach is OK....full of rubbish, which as a kiwi is confronting. Within the complex it is wonderful.
