An afternoon tea at SIS Kata
Superb service by Mook, Pang, Aom & Boy. Had drinks and snacks at the cafe and the atmosphere and view were stunning. Would love to try for a night's stay soon!
a night of sheer terror
I was really pleased with the warm service from the front desk and the stunning views from the rooftop terrace—these were the highlights of my stay. That said, there were two major issues that ruined my experience entirely. First, the lifts were stiflingly hot with no proper ventilation. Second, the hygiene problem was appalling. I woke up in the middle of the night scratching relentlessly, only to discover numerous tiny winged bugs crawling all over me. After looking them up online, I identified them as rove beetles, whose toxic bodily fluids can cause severe skin ulceration. When I alerted hotel staff, the only solution they offered was a room switch. The replacement room was the same category, yet it had an extremely poor outdoor view. When we returned to this new room the next day, it had not been cleaned at all, and the bugs were still everywhere. We felt extremely anxious packing our luggage surrounded by the pests. To make matters worse, the hotel provided no form of compensation or goodwill gesture to make up for this terrible ordeal.
