My private boathouse by Kata
The place is elegant, only a few rooms, so it never feels crowded. You get the luxury of a private hotel right by a beautiful beach. The service is excellent, the food is outstanding and beautifully presented, and the whole setting is peaceful and tranquil. Absolutely lovely.
Location, location, location
Great location, lovely rooms and terrific drinks deal that is available. The breakfast was awesome and I cannot speak highly enough about the staff!

The Boathouse Continues to Impress - Out Third and Best Stay
My wife and I recently completed a sixteen‑night stay at The Boathouse Phuket (Kata Beach). This was our third stay — our first being in 2001, our next in 2023 — and without question, it was our best stay yet.
The property continues to go from strength to strength. Renovations since our last visit clearly show that the owners are investing in the hotel’s future, and the results are impressive. The Boathouse has always had charm, but the refreshed rooms and public areas now match the level of service and location that make this boutique beachfront hotel so special.
The inclusions under the Book Direct Exclusive offer were exceptional: breakfast for one or two guests, a daily cocktail for each of us, a complimentary Pinto set lunch when staying three consecutive nights, and — for stays of five nights or more — a one‑time welcome mini‑bar. For a true beachfront property of its calibre, this represents outstanding value for money.
The room itself was beautifully renovated, comfortable, and offered a direct, uninterrupted view of Kata Beach — the kind of view that reminds you why The Boathouse has such a loyal following.
The restaurant at The Boathouse is not only one of the best in the Kata/Karon area — it is genuinely one of the best on Phuket. My wife and I first visited Phuket in 1996 and have returned dozens of times over the years, and The Boathouse continues to stand out for its consistently excellent food. Prices are very reasonable given the quality and freshness of the ingredients, and the serving sizes are generous without ever compromising presentation. Breakfast (menus are attached in the photos), lunch, and dinner were all consistently superb.
What truly made this stay exceptional, however, was the service. We were treated wonderfully by so many members of The Boathouse team — each one making us feel not only welcomed, but genuinely valued and appreciated. There were far too many to remember every single one, but I want to recognize the following individuals (in no particular order):
Khun Kratai, Khun Na, Khun Aob, Mr X, Khun Pond, Khun Pair, Khun Bovy, Khun Mai, Khun Tar, Khun Tik, Khun Farit, Khun Golf, Khun Pepe, and Khun Bam.
Each of these team members contributed to making our stay memorable, and Margaret and I are sincerely grateful for their kindness, professionalism, and warm hospitality. Their collective service exemplifies what makes The Boathouse such a special place.
We are already planning to return for an eight‑night stay in late July/early August 2027.
The gym has all the equipment needed to maintain a cardio and weightlifting routine while on holiday/vacation.
The Boathouse is a rare combination of location, service, food, and genuine hospitality — the kind of place that not only meets expectations but quietly exceeds them. After three stays over 25 years, it remains one of our favorite hotels anywhere.
Unreservedly recommended.
