Ozo Phuket

We loved our stay at OZO Phuket. The reception team were welcoming and helpful, the room was comfortable, and the pool was great for our family. The hotel location was excellent and made everything easy. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and we would happily return.

This is a great hotel for families, in an unbelievably convenient location. The open-air reception lobby is well-staffed and the staff were super welcoming when we arrived after a long flight from Australia. My son was travel sick and they showed kindness by prioritising his care before proceeding with check-in formalities.

From the outset, this hotel has a positive, colourful, warm vibe. The staff are authentically courteous, friendly and welcoming. Their English is impressive and a quick, friendly check-in set the tone for a great 5 night stay.

We booked an interconnecting family room, which had a king bed in 1 room, and twin beds in the other. Both rooms had separate mini fridges, immaculate bathrooms each, and a bottle of water per person. Whilst absolutely spotless and modern in their simplicity, the rooms are fairly basic (no phone, no room service, no mini hotel toiletries - although we did get an iron from reception no trouble).

The breakfast buffet selection was impressive (more than our next 5 star high-end resort we stayed at) and there was nothing else we could have wished for - although it was a little overcrowded and busy during our stay, but that happens anywhere.

The 2 pools were larger than expected, clean, with a large fun water slide and kids play area in one pool, water volleyball, and plenty of large clean beach towels. We had no trouble finding somewhere to sit under an umbrella, even though the resort was clearly busy. Guests didn't seem to 'hold' sun loungers like they do at other resorts. The gardens are large, well-maintained, and lush.

Walking past the pools, there is a secure gate (use your room card) that provides access to beautiful Kata beach, only 2 mins walk down a quiet side road.

Directly across the road from the main open-air lobby (not even 30 seconds away) there are an abundance of money exchange booths (no fee, no commission, all with publicly displayed exchange rates - that are better than the airport). There's a 7-11, a well-stocked pharmacy, an abundance of massage and nail shops, fresh fruit shops, souvenir shops - everything right outside the hotel lobby.

Our best find was the "Kata Walking Street Market" - a thai food heaven, open from lunch until late evening. There must be over 50 food stalls, all selling delicious drinks, cocktails, street food, desserts, full seafood meals.....anything you could wish for. We are fussy Aussies, and we happily ate at the various tables at the stalls every evening. Honestly, you couldn't ask for more food, with friendlier smiles, 1 minute from your hotel door. Super handy when there is only 1 small restaurant within the resort itself.

We will definitely return to the Ozo at Kata Beach the next time we're in Phuket. Thanks to the amazing staff, with their warm smiles, for making our family's stay perfect.
