Aurico Kata Resort & Spa is newly built 4-star resort with 144 rooms and has been welcoming guests since February 2019, located only 500 m. from Kata Beach.

Through the mixture of materials;wood, glass, cement, metal, and imaginative modern twist to create the perfect blend between luxury and stylish industrial design.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I have a mixed review for this hotel..
The hotel it's self is very nice, it has a huge pool and pool access rooms( which we had and it was very nice) it was very quiet and chilled. Our room was very spacious too. The bed was huge and very comfortable.
All the hotel staff was more than helpful and very welcoming. A really happy friendly front of house team we found. Nothing was to much trouble.
The hotel is situated off a very busy street, and once you are in the hotel you would believe how hustle and bustle it was outside.
Its very central to everything and about a 15min walk to the beach , on the way you pass many shops , bars , restaurants, markets , food sellers, massage parlours. Its eye opening as there is so much to take in..we found it was nicer to stroll down in the morning , less busy and calmer.
If you want to be in the thick of it all then this hotel ticks all the boxes.
What I wasn't so keen on was the smells , our room seemed to hold a drainage smell , and the pool towels , even when replaced and clean never smelt clean they also had a horrible smell to them?
Walking down the street , you was met with fish stalls , food stalls , fruit stalls ect so mix this with hot humid heat ! I wasn't a fan . During our trip we stayed in several different hotels , in different areas of phuket rawai, au nang krabi ,kata , karon , and this is the only hotel and area i found to smell. Our daughter stayed 10 mins away in the sugar fashion apartments and it was fine there , so I think its just the location of this hotel is in a very busy spot.
Thats all I wasn't so keen about and it didnt bother my husband at all.
The hotel had a decent breakfast too. Yes it did cater more for the Thai and Chinese guests, but it also had omelette being freshly made, fried or scrambled eggs, streaky bacon, sometimes baked beans, cereals, toast, croissants, waffles, we really found it catered well. And we was in Thailand, we do not expect full on English breakfasts!
So would i stay here again? Probably, but would maybe prefer to be further down the round nearer to the beach where the air was fresher..
Bad WiFi, house keeping slow, access key issues, room view very poor, hotel upkeep average, shower pressure poor, temperature poor
Aurico Kata Beach Hotel. Excellent from the moment we arrived. Out of the seven hotels that we stayed in at different locations throughout Thailand, this one was the best. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful if they tried, and they were so polite. From the Reception staff, to Housekeeping, to the restaurant staff, all were eager to be of assistance. Our room on the 3rd floor was large and spacious and overlooked the pool. Breakfast at the Aurico was the best out of all the hotels we have stayed at with a wide choice for all tastes including Asian and Western palates. I used the air-conditioned gym at the hotel on a couple of occasions. All of the equipment was in good working order. My wife also booked a 2 hour full body massage at the hotel spa and said that it was one of the best massages that she has had in many years and was excellent value for money. The hotel also offered a free shuttle service to/from Kata Beach. The location is perfect for getting in to the heart of Kata. However, just round the corner from the hotel is a great restaurant called Red Corner which had a great selection of fresh seafood if you don’t want to struggle through the crowds in the busier areas. 10/10 for Aurico and highly recommended.
The resort was in a great location and the facilities were great. Pool bar staff were amazing shame the same could not be said about the reception’s staff. When checking in was told you have a pool bow room to be looking at a wall. When the room flooded from a leaking pipe in the bathroom it took 3 hours for them to assist changing rooms and not one time did any of these not so nice receptionist and I am sorry or an apology for the experience. When checking out prior to me even making my way to the desk one ran down the entrance and yelled rudely in front of at least 10 other guests you have a bill you must pay this was beyond embarrassing like I was a criminal about depart without checking out. I had previously attempted to book a tour and rude reception staff just said no… not offering suggestions. After 14 days in Thailand these women made this trip memorable for all the wrong reasons. My tip here is ask for the manager should something go wrong, they can’t help the plumbing fault but customer service 101 should always start with an apology and not be told you need to wait 3 hours for another room when the manager can find one in 5 minutes. The worst service I have experienced in my life having travelled 45 countries.
Just returned to AU after a 6 night stay.
Honestly....EXTREMELY good value for the price. Maybe we caught it just out of peak season, so maybe we got it slightly cheaper...dunno. How anybody can give this a 'terrible' review is beyond me!
The large pool and associated garden area was fantastic, a lot better than some more expensive hotels that we've stayed in. Breakfast was very good. Staff were all excellent and very polite as usual. Everything was very clean & well maintained. Location is pretty much perfect, being more or less in the middle of both Karon & Kata beaches, we alternated our beach visits every other day. Pretty much everything is within a 10 min walk from this great hotel....bustling food courts, shops, bars & restaurants.
The Phuket smart bus stops are close by. We traveled to/from the airport using the bus, no issue at all. Just beware to allow enough time when heading back to the airport when heading home, allow 2 hrs from Kata to the airport (and obviously the recommended 3hrs arrival before your flight as the passport control desks have large queues).
I would 100% recommend this hotel.
