- Karon Phunaka Resort

This magnificent resort is perched on the Naka Mountain, just a 15-minute walking distance from the Karon Beach and Karon street, a popular area for shopping. Guests exploring the hidden treasures of this stunning area will have the chance to discover some of the most important tourist attractions, such as the Big Buddha and Chalong Temple, both situated a short driving distance away. This family-friendly complex features a choice of comfortable rooms with modern and tropical design that blend perfectly with the surrounding landscape. The onsite facilities include a restaurant serving exquisite and varied menus, a stunning outdoor pool with Jacuzzi and the state-of-the-art spa area, ideal to enjoy a massage in the comfort of a private treatment room, all for an unforgettable stay in Thailand.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The resort sits on top of a small hill, above residential areas tucked away from the main road, and it gives the hotel a quiet and relaxing vibe. The place itself feels like a proper getaway and it has a nice infinity pool with the most gorgeous view. It offers great amenities and the staff are wonderful. Toon who I believe is one of the concierge was soo friendly, everyone in my family including myself was captivated by how upbeat, friendly and happy he was. So helpful and accomodating. I would absolutely stay here again if I was to comeback to Phuket even as a solo traveller.
One thing to note is that there are plenty of stairs and steep hilly parts to this hotel, so it may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.
Fantastic view Fantastic service Great big room Location up the hill top And elevator 🛗 up and down on service all 24/7 The Restaurant had the super service Super Breakfast every day with massive food Super 🍳 Breakfast
Booked through booking.com and we were not happy at all, the reviews and the pictures is not giving the right picture. The staff is nice snd the view. The room we got was very worn down, and they have not kapt it fresh. The beds are superhard, you here whatever says in the adjacent rooms. The pool is nice but aldo worn down. They have way to few sunbeds by the pool. The food is ok, but you will find much better downtown. Sorry to say, we will not rely on booking.com, we changed hotel after a couple of nights.
Loved every single person who works here for their authenticity. Toon shows you why Thailand is called the Land of Smiles; he was super helpful with our luggage and the ride to our room in his golf cart was so much fun. Lakme (not sure how to spell her name) at the restaurant was super sweet and nice. It was a pleasure to talk to her one afternoon I had down time and decided to enjoy the courtesy shaved iced we got.
This property has personality and will provide a memorable stay. Their room service is great. Housekeeping was excellent. Breakfast was a A plus.
Due to the war, the airline cancelled our flights from Nice to Phuket with a stopover in Doha. We were therefore unable to stay at the hotel for the nights we had booked, as the airline did not offer us an alternative itinerary and simply cancelled the flights. The management of this hotel categorically refuses to refund us or issue us with a voucher valid until the end of 2026, unlike other hotels in Phuket which caused no difficulties. This hotel’s policy is to offer vouchers only to guests who had booked direct flights to or from war zones. The management merely sent us generic emails that did not take our situation into account. It is unacceptable to penalise guests who have no control over the choice of stopovers offered by airlines. This hotel cares absolutely nothing for its guests or the global situation and uses a false pretext to make money, at the expense of its guests. This sends a very bad message to tourists from Thailand, a country renowned for its hospitality. The proof that this is not the case is unacceptable. In short, steer clear of this establishment!
