The best resort in Karon!!
After many trips to Phuket, this is our first visit to Karon and to stay at the Centara Grand Beach Resort. What a beautiful resort with spacious rooms, two restaurants, several swimming pools, water slides for the kids and a lazy river pool experience. It is right on and at the northern end of Karon Beach. You can walk out of your room and have you toes in the sea in five minutes. No roads in between, no hawkers- nothing but the sand and the gentle waves of the Andaman Sea. Mind you, it is a good 20-minute walk to the Karon Roundabout with no footpath for the first 100m. Walk the beach if you can. We have our whole family of 10 with us, in three rooms near each other facing the pool - each with its own balcony. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Bathrooms have a large shower and a freestanding tub and the amenities are fantastic. The beds are really comfortable, they offer a pillow menu and the Centara App allows you to order amenities, ice, pillows, book restaurants and more. There are two excellent restaurants on site and several bars including two swim-up bars. There is also an adults-only pool if you want a kid-free stay. Drink and food prices are reasonable but you need to remember that you are staying at a resort. Quality and service is excellent. We chose a Luxury Escapes deal with breakfast (one of the best breakfast buffets we have ever experienced) and one other meal of choice included. This can be buffet or three course à la carte from the standard menu - nice. The deal also came with one hour of free-flow drinks per day with the free choice meal- from a small but more than adequate drinks menu. The package is extremely good value. On a final note, the staff are amazing. From the Head Chef Jose, who manages the Cove Restaurant, to Game at the Coast Bistro, and O, the barman at the swim-up pool bar and all of the wait staff, cleaning staff, reception staff and everyone in between. Brilliant. We will definitely return!

Fantastic and very good.
The hotel is excellent! The team in the lobby—especially Jon, Jaja, and Joy at the front desk—was super welcoming and accommodating. Our room was clean, smelled great, and was very comfortable.
We love Centara
We love all the hotel facilities. My boys love kids club. All slides, lazy river so much fun. Ida and Rush breakfast staff are great. Pool bar staff Boy and Santa fantastic. The beach is awesome. We love everything and we definitely will come back.
Friendly staff, but cleanliness issues and a misleading promotion
We stayed at the resort as a family for a week. The highlight of our stay was the kind and friendly waitstaff. Unfortunately, the resort itself feels dated and in need of attention. Throughout our week, we noticed rubbish left lying around, including a toothbrush that remained on the stairs for the entire stay, as well as used plasters and tissues at the bottom of the waterslide and pool. Aside from the cleanliness issues, we left with a negative feeling after checkout due to a problem with a promotion. While waiting to check in, we ordered the “spend and receive free money” offer through the resort’s app. The status changed from “in progress” to “completed.” At checkout, when we asked why it had not been applied to our bill, staff told us it was invalid because we had not paid for it in advance. At no point during the check-in process were we asked or informed that advance payment was required especially as they had our credit card on file already. Had we known the offer would not be honoured, we would not have spent as much at the resort restaurants. The process felt misleading - when an order moves from “in progress” to “completed,” it is reasonable to assume it has been successfully applied.

Great place for family to spend quality time and loads of things for kids to do!!
