Rooms: We enjoyed the basic room option on the 4th floor with glimpses of ocean views. Bed was comfortable, water pressure and temperature from shower was good. Room was very spacious, only thing it lacked was storage options. Only a hanging rack with coat hangers. The large glass window from the balcony let in lots of natural light. Tv had good options of English channels. Complementary bottles of water each day.
Location: Just a short walk from Kamala Beach or the main rd in Kamala, yet easy to get to. Only negative was that the back street was poorly lit so at night you have to use your phone torch or just be very cautious when walking. The location was quiet. Hotel was in close proximity to many restaurants, massage parlours, currency exchange booths, convenience stores.
Breakfast: Breakfast was good, a decent selection of freshly cooked eggs and bacon, pastry, toast, Thai food, yoghurt, cereal and salad. Tea coffee and juice available.
Pool: A decent sized pool, temperature cool and very refreshing. Family of ours stayed in the pool access rooms which led directly onto the pool.
Overall: I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Kamala. For the price you really can’t go wrong. The staff have been friendly.
Definitely not as great as reviews make it out to be. I was in a pool access ground floor room.
Receptionist is nice, but that’s about all the great things to sum up.
Stayed here as a base whilst doing lots of trips in Phuket. Love kamala as very easy and safe. The hotels lovely, very relaxed, comfortable beds, yet chilled and quiet. Plenty close by and staff lovely. Provide towels, dressing gown and a lift for higher floors. Great easy parking too.
Thank you for a lovely stay!
A Peaceful Stay at Wabi Sabi Boutique Hotel I stayed at Wabi Sabi Boutique Hotel near Kamala Beach, and the experience was thoroughly positive. The hotel has a calm, stylish atmosphere that truly lives up to its name – “Wabi Sabi,” the art of finding beauty in simplicity and imperfection. It’s all about harmony and presence.
The hotel’s interior is minimalist and tasteful: simple wooden tables, stone floors, and open layouts facing the garden. Transparent curtains shield against tropical downpours, and the breakfast area has a roof of clear corrugated sheets, giving the feeling of dining outdoors – authentic and relaxing.
Breakfast is simple but plentiful. A colorful selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, cereals and yogurt. Some small meat dishes, bread, jam, coffee, and tea. The staff are helpful and eager to accommodate individual needs.
I traveled alone but immediately felt at home, largely thanks to the staff who are warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The atmosphere is peaceful, with green plants and a few sweet, calm dogs resting by the reception – small details that give the place its own soul.
My room was on the fifth floor: full-length glass doors to the balcony, spacious, airy, and clean, with a freshly polished white tile floor every day. A large comfortable bed and fresh flowers in the room. The balcony had two large chairs and a table, overlooking the garden, pool, nearby houses, and with a glimpse of the sea. The location is ideal – just a few minutes’ walk to Kamala Beach. The hotel lends out large, comfortable beach mats that are light and easy to carry. And for those traveling in the rainy season, they also lend out large umbrellas. But the best tip is to buy a cheap rain poncho – when it rains, it really rains!
Wabi Sabi Boutique Hotel is highly recommended for anyone looking for a hotel with good standards, a lovely atmosphere, and staff who truly care.
Location is excellent, at the end of a quiet street and just a few minutes walk to the beach and line of restaurants and shops.
Other than that, it does not qualify to be called a 'boutique'. We booked three rooms and there was a power cut for an entire day and the hotel didn't have any back-up. We are from India and very familiar with unscheduled cuts but a hotel of this standard will always have a back-up. We had to spend the entire day outside with two infants and had to wait another hour before water supply resumed.
Following our request (the hotel did not offer this on their own accord), we were promised a half-day's worth of refund; however, this refund took over 2 months, and 15 follow-up emails to be successful. In all, not good value for money.
