Sunwing Kamala Beach

We stayed at Sunwing Kamala Beach for 7 nights in May as a family of four (2 adults and 2 children, ages 2 and 4) and had a wonderful experience. We arranged the airport transfer through the hotel, and everything went smoothly from arrival to check-in. Our room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with a small kitchenette, and complimentary bottled water was provided daily.

The hotel is fantastic for families. The eight swimming pools offer something for everyone, from waterslides and activities to quieter areas for relaxation. Our children also loved the kids' club and activities, and the staff were incredibly kind and patient. Although we only booked breakfast, we often had lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food was very good, the service was excellent, and children can eat free from the kids' menu when adults order a meal.

Kamala Beach is beautiful, and there are plenty of restaurants, shops, and a 7-Eleven within walking distance. The only thing to note is that many of Phuket's main attractions are a bit farther away, so excursions usually involve some travel time.

A special thank you to Ms. Renelyn and the guest service team. I accidentally left my jacket, with my house keys inside, at the hotel and only realized it after leaving Thailand. The hotel quickly located my belongings and arranged to send them to my next destination. Ms. Renelyn kept me updated throughout the process and was incredibly helpful. Thanks to her assistance, I got my keys back quickly. We would highly recommend Sunwing Kamala Beach, especially for families with young children, and would happily stay here again.

Guys, we are so sad to be home. Sunwing was the most amazing family hotel we could have asked for. The service was amazing I genuinely don’t have one bad thing to say.

We travelled here from 24th of may to the 5th of June. So firstly I want to share about the worries around coming in Monsoon season and what weather we experienced. If you are like me and worried that you wouldn’t see the sun then please read. Firstly, our first week we experienced a range of weather. We had probably 2 days complete sun, small showers of rain but lasted ten minutes, we had about 3 days of a mixture of cloud and sun but please note these were the days we all became extremely burnt!!! And in the other two days of the first week we had quite over cast but very humid and warm days with rain on an evening & sometimes on a morning. The second week became gradually worse. We had mostly over cast days to start with, with the sun popping out here and there but with extremely heavy down pours that lasted for a couple of hours. Then for the last 3 days it was a complete wash out. HOWEVER - I genuinely don’t feel like it stopped us doing anything. On them days we visited elephant sanctuary, we went to shopping malls & if you have little ones who love animals YOU MUST go to the Cappybara cafe near the central Phuket mall. BUT if you are wanting to not explore and have mainly pool and beach days then genuinely I would say to come at a different time of year as the weather is extremely unpredictable.

Now, the location for us was great but we do recommend keeping this in mind. We came here with the idea that we would eat out most days as we didn’t select the breakfast option on arrival or on our booking. But we then quickly realised it was much more convenient for us with children to eat breakfast in the hotel & the breakfast had lots of choice we particularly loved the omelette station. The closest place for restaurants was after the walk after the beach which is near the 7/11 there was plenty of choices but again it was more convenient eating in the hotel. Room service does not offer the Kids Eat Free option so keep that in mind. The main restaurant for pool food and evening meals is absolutely amazing!!! I must of ate the salmon linguine every single day & now I miss it so much. As mentioned there is a walk to the left of leaving the hotel at the back to go to the beach where you walk over a bridge and there is shops and resteraunts etc. no where near as hectic and busy as Patong & we quickly felt like it was becoming a home away from home.

Patong was around 20 minutes in a taxi & the hotel make such a good effort of easing your travelling plans by assigning you a driver who stays close while you leave the hotel & waits while you go to the places you like. Big shout out to Ali, he was a lovely man, and we really hope Ali has a great life and we hope to see him again some day maybe when we return. Thank you for all you did for us on our little trips.

Thailand, has stolen our hearts & we truly wish we could live there, nothing is too much for anyone, there is always a friendly smile to start your day off perfectly.

So many pool choice in Sunwing, we loved them all!!! The rooms were cleaned to perfection.
