This outstanding property is located directly on the white sand beach of the great Kamala bay, on the western side of Phuket Island. This beach-hotel is a 10-minute drive from nightlife and shopping. It is within a 5-minute walk from Phuket Fantasea theme park. This family-friendly resort offers 2 restaurants, an on-site convenience store and a wide selection of activities for children. The air-conditioned rooms are very spacious and come with a kitchenette without stove, 220-Volt electrical outlets, electronic door lock, safety deposit box, telephone (IDD, surcharge), Wi-Fi, microwave, light kitchen equipment, crockery/cutlery, fridge (mid-size), coffee/tea making facility, free drinking water, bathroom and toiletries, shower, hot and cold water, towels, bathrobe, slippers, hair dryer, flat screen TV, satellite TV channels, movie channel, sitting area, sofa bed, wardrobe/closet, working desk and balcony/terrace. Guests can exercise at the fitness centre, enjoy the hotels in/outdoor kids play area or enjoy a Thai massage at the outdoor massage sala's. The resort also has an on-site clinic. Som's Kitchen serves international dishes and a breakfast buffet in a casual setting. Other dining options include fine dining restaurant and cocktails at the bar.

Great Stay at the Happy Baby Studio
It had been quite a while since my wife's pregnancy and the subsequent birth of our son last year that we had a vacation and I was longing for one. I had Phuket in mind since I had been there earlier, and I absolutely love Thailand for its hospitality and courteous people. However, the challenge was travelling with our one-year-old. Since it was his first long vacation, we wanted to choose a place that was family friendly and provided amenities for babies. After some research, I came across the Sunwing Kamala Resort, offering Happy Baby Studios, designed specifically for babies and booked the same from 8th - 14th October 2026.
On our arrival, we were delighted to see that the room had the exact same amenities as promised while booking - it had everything that a 1-year-old might need. A high chair for feeding, a baby potty, a tub for bathing, a stroller, a cot with a mosquito net, toys, a diaper-disposal bin - you name it and you have it. My wife asked them for a sterilizer machine and got that as well, at a rent of 100 THB per night. The on-site restaurant, Som's Kitchen also prepared customized food for the baby as requested. We asked them to prepare some boiled rice,vegetables and chicken and blend it together and they made it perfectly. It was due to these amenities and the co-operation from the staff that our experience of travelling with our 1-year-old was made a lot smoother. For the 6 nights that we stayed there, Sunwing Kamala almost became our second home. For anyone looking to travel with a toddler in Phuket, the Happy Baby Studio is an amazing choice.
The resort also has 8 outdoor swimming pools, all well-maintained. They even have activities such as water aerobics from time to time. The breakfast buffet is expansive. With additions such as the Teens Lounge, Lollo and Bernie's Club, this resort is a great choice for families looking to travel with Kids.
Only thing I'd say is to add some more variety to the Room Service Menu. Also, one more thing to be aware of is that they charge 50 THB extra if your room service order is less than 500 THB. Also, they charge a security deposit of 2000 THB on arrival, which is refundable upon check-out. They clean the room daily but keep your towels on the floor if you want them changed.
The resort is right on the beach and has a nice restaurant - Fino's by the beachside. We had a grilled salmon with hollandaise sauce and lobster cream one day and it was delicious. Kamala Beach is a much quieter area as compared to the bustling Patong area but has it's fair share of shops, cafes and a 7/11 as well.
Overall, a great choice if you're looking to spend some time at a beachfront resort that is kid-friendly and at a quiet location, while not being too far from Patong. Note that they have scheduled round-trip/one-way shuttle buses leaving daily at 6:30 PM and 8 PM from the hotel for Jungceylong Mall, Patong and it takes about 30 mins to reach.

Family holiday 👌✨️
What an incredible place to land a holiday. From the moment we arrive Aof's smile was so welcoming, taking us to our room. The rooms were generous and spacious for a family of 5. Housing keeping daily. The facility was so clean and tidy with many staff working daily to keep it looking beautiful. The restaurant was delicious. Kids club was fantastic. Pools beautiful. A short walk to the beach and surrounding attractions. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The staff got to know our family by name and engaged with our children. Special shout out to- Fred, Namfon, Tan, Som, Kwaw, Letlet, Love, Joy, Joy Myra and Yuyah, Ding, Chay, Mild, Kat. Preaw, Beer, Alyssa. You all become family during our holiday.

The hotel is amazing staff were attentive.pools were good, we played volleyball and on the slides.my teenage grandsons loved it. The beach is a stones throw away, shame there was so much plastic, staff did try to keep it clean. The breakfast was good had bacon, lots of breads for toast, cereals and other options of eggs. Restaurant by the pool did a fab pizza. Swim up bar for ice lollys. No entertainment and nothing to do at night, even local. We went out to a restaurant called Taste about 20min walk it was very nice. Mango Market was mon and Thursdays 3pm -10pm. Room was fab loads of room we had 515. TV, microwave, toaster, fridge, sink even gatve us sponge and washing up liquid. We got a free fruit bowl filled, crisps, crackers, coke, 7up, beer and wine. Water was complimentary every day. Goodie bag in the bathroom with everything you need. Towels complimentary by the pool.

Excellent Family Hotel in Kamala Beach
We stayed as family in Sunwing for 5 days and it is very nice. The staff is very hospitable. The resort manager Renelyn is expectional to ensure guests have good time there. My kids loved the kids club and teens club. The staff in kids club is very nice and polite with kids. There are many pools and my kids loved the water slides. We took beach facing Villa and the beach view was excellent. Hotel location is amazing. Breakfast spread should improve. All in all, excellent place to stay with family.

The Royal Escape @Phuket
Our stay at Sunwing Kamala Beach was truly exceptional—a wonderful experience that felt comfortable, thoughtful, and genuinely family-friendly from the very beginning.
The rooms were spacious, spotless, and beautifully maintained, with clean and well-kept bathrooms. What we particularly loved were the lovely views from our balcony—simply sitting there and watching the ever-changing clouds and open skies was a pleasure in itself.
As a kid-friendly resort, Sunwing has clearly thought of everything. From dedicated kids’ meals and a fantastic children’s pool with slides to the overall family-oriented atmosphere, every little detail seemed designed to make travelling with children easier and more enjoyable.
The location is another major highlight. The resort sits right on the edge of beautiful Kamala Beach, while just outside you have virtually everything you might need—7-Eleven stores, massage centres, restaurants, cafés, and local conveniences, all within easy walking distance.
For families, especially those travelling with young children, we would highly recommend Kamala over the much more crowded Patong area. And if you do want to enjoy Patong’s nightlife, it is still very accessible by Grab, or by walking to the main road and taking a shuttle.
Overall, Sunwing Kamala Beach gave us exactly what we wanted from a family holiday—space, cleanliness, beautiful surroundings, convenience, and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere.
A heartfelt recommendation for families looking for a comfortable and memorable stay in Phuket. We would happily return! ❤️
