Sunprime Kamala Beach

Good location on beach (if you like Kamala -- we didn't) Good grounds and plenty of pools. However, only limited shade (middle pool the best). A bit of renovations going on and middle restaurant and entertainment area closed. Spa closed. Had to move room as aircon moldy and room damp, got very ill. Second room was better but illness lasted a while after which ruined the holiday. Food good, plenty to chose from. Staff great. Massage ladies great.

Right on the beachfront at Kamala Beach, Phuket. Spent 8 nights here, deluxe room with beach glimpses & pool views. Although a large complex, we found our room quiet, handy to main restaurant, pools & beac. Room was serviced daily, plentiful complimentary daily buffet breakfast with both Asian & western foods, other delicious meals (paid) had variety as well, with very reasonable prices & better than nearby outside restaurants. Plenty to do at the resort (small library, shop, cooking classes, gym, massages, fitness classes etc) & beach walks to see the long boats (south) or beach stalls, massages, bars & other resorts (north). Behind our resort was a lively local market from 2-3 pm to about 9pm on weeknights except Wednesday - local produce, seafood, hot foods, clothing & accessories, nail treatments, & bars. Also short walk into local town for banks, money exchanges, hairdressers, tourist agents, stalls & a Maccas. The resort had no travel agent onsite, not even a display of brochures of local tours & sights. The only negative we found was the ‘shuttle bus’ into nearby Patong (20 mins, or 1 hr to large mall). It ran only once daily or twice at night, but was merely an open cattle truck with hard bench seats along each side, no seatbelts. We’re aged in our 70s & found it very uncomfortable, & would not recommend it for anyone aged over 60, especially if you have a medical condition. We used it once only & we both had headaches from the traffic fumes, & I spent the next day in bed with an aching back. Not good enough shuttle transport for a 4 star resort!
Otherwise we enjoyed our holiday & would stay there again, but would arrange our own shuttle transport next time.

Had 26 nights at Sunprime and found it a great resort with very friendly staff. A special thanks to Julian who went above and beyond to make our trip a very relaxing experience. Very handy to all restaurants
