I’ve always stayed in the town but this place caught my eye as it’s overlooking the river and has a nice pool. Pictures can often be deceiving but not here. Huge rooms, big comfy bed. Fridge, kettle tv, balcony. Little seat at the window. Safety deposit box, lots of wardrobe and shelf space. It’s a really short walk to the nicest (imo) of the night markets and it’s really not as far from town as some reviews suggest. I actually preferred it. The pool is very nice, well maintained with plenty of loungers including covered ones and it gets the sun from 8am until 4.30pm. There’s a pool bar that serves food. Breakfast buffet had a good selection of fruit, cereal, yogurt, toast, pastries plus the standard offerings of eggs, sausage and some excellent Thai choices if fried rice, spicy pork and veg or masaman curry for breakfast is your thing. The icing on the cake tho is the staff on reception. Polite, professional, helpful and friendly. They helped me book a train ticket online, let me store a bag whilst I went to Koh Jum, printed things for me. They absolutely went the extra mile. For value this place is a winner. I’ve stayed in dozens of hotels in Krabi over the years and will be returning here for sure.
This is quite a nice, immaculately clean hotel with good sized rooms etc. The staff were all really pleasant. Its only a short walk into town with the night market etc. for something to eat, so its location is good too. It also has the benefit of being quiet at night because its not right in the middle of town. The pool is nice for a dip after a day out with comfy loungers around it. The negatives are; the hotel taxi etc. is quite expensive (they are very good though). We had booked room only and had just had coffee and a croissant in a nearby cafe, but on our third morning we went downstairs to pay for and have the hotel breakfast. We turned around and walked out after having lifted the lids on the 'hot trays'. All full of congealed, cold food that had been prepared hours before and left in trays which were not turned on. Utterly appalling! Such a shame that the hotel lets itself down in this way. If it hadn't been for this, I would have rated this hotel as good rather than average.
As soon as you enter the hotel, you are greeted by a friendly and generous staff. The reception area was large with comfy seating to wait for your room. The large pool in the back had a bar where you can order food and drink. A great feature is the on site laundry and massage centers. The hotel is a few blocks walk to many open markets and across from the Krabi river where you can purchase a long boat ride to the caves.
The hotel room was clean with a large bed, good size bathroom and plenty of storage space. The balcony was small but very functional. The room had a coffee and tea center and a safe.
The River Front hotel is just to the north of the city centre on a fairly busy road . We chose it as a base for exploring the offshore islands, without having to pay the premium associated with staying in Ao Nang.
The hotel was very clean and to a high standard throughout. The pool area, set to the rear of the hotel and away from the road, was very well kept and was crystal clean when we were there. Our room was very good, however we fronted onto the main road so there was traffic noise to a greater or lesser extent much of the time. Krabi hospital is only 500m up the road, so you do get ambulances with blues and twos going at times. Having said this, we were satisfied with our stay here. Lots of dining options in Krabi city centre, about 15 minutes walk. There is a dedicated desk for arranging trips, which was very helpful. Other reviewers were somewhat critical about breakfast, however we found it to be reasonable, consisting of a buffet with separate ordering for eggs etc.
Very comfortable hotel with a basic breakfast. A little far from the city center but a short ride away with Grabb. The staff is very friendly and always available to help with anything you need. The hotel has plumbing problems so try to avoid putting toilet paper in the toilet. I enjoyed staying here.
