Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Stayed here, four of us for a week. We were all completely blown away, such beautiful, genuine service I have never experienced anywhere else like this. Santiburi almost didnt feel like a hotel, but like an invite into a very special home. The pool is stunning, the rooms we were given were part of an upgrade I believe and again we were overwhelmed. We would like to extend thanks especially to Sodsai in Beach House, Tok who was always so lovely and the great guys and girls by the pool bar, all exceptional. And also the barman in Bar33, sorry I forgot his name but a Chelsea supporter! He was very professional and a nice guy to talk to. Thank you everyone.
We had a wonderful stay at Santiburi Koh Samui and were particularly impressed by the outstanding service. Every member of staff is extremely helpful, attentive and genuinely friendly. No matter where you are in the resort or what you need, someone is always there immediately to assist you. You hardly have to worry about anything yourself.
A special mention goes to Meen at the pool, who was always there to bring us towels and prepare our sun loungers – with a warm smile and exceptional attentiveness. The entire team makes a real effort to understand and respond to each guest’s individual needs. We even had the pleasure of briefly meeting the General Manager.
The resort is beautifully spacious, extremely well maintained and offers something for every age group. The private beach is wonderful as well, with excellent service and attentive care.
You can truly feel the 5-star standard throughout the resort, and it is clear that the management places great importance on the well-being of its guests.
We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back!
We renewed our wedding vows and were looking for a venue to do so. We received excellent service and would celebrate there again in a heartbeat—though next time we’d stay for a few nights. We were truly thrilled! Many thanks to the whole team!
We just returned from this truly wonderful resort and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The hotel grounds are vast, beautifully landscaped, and very well maintained. The different villas are spread throughout the property, which gives the resort the feeling of a small, peaceful village. Despite the size of the hotel, it often felt as though we had the place almost to ourselves. We would rarely come across other guests while walking to breakfast, the beach, or the pool.
We had the pleasure of staying in the Reserve area in a Grand Reserve Pool Villa. The villa was beautifully appointed, with a more contemporary style that we really liked. There was plenty of storage space, especially in the bathroom and dressing area, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. Housekeeping was also excellent throughout our stay. The private pool was surrounded by high, lush vegetation, giving it a wonderful sense of privacy. The staff were lovely throughout our stay — always smiling, friendly, and genuinely trying to help whenever needed.
One of the things we appreciated most about the resort was its peaceful atmosphere. There was no loud music or unnecessary noise, which contributed greatly to the relaxing feeling of the place. Another huge positive was the availability of sun loungers. There was none of the usual early-morning rush to reserve them. We could arrive at the beach or pool around 11:00 and still easily find plenty of free loungers. This really added to the stress-free atmosphere of the holiday.
Breakfast was excellent, with a very wide selection and plenty of freshly prepared options.
For lunch, we occasionally ate at the Beach House and Pool House. The food was good overall, although prices are definitely considerably higher than at restaurants outside the hotel. We had dinner at Sala Thai, which was absolutely excellent. We also had dinner once at the Beach House, which unfortunately was a little underwhelming, as we found the dishes rather poorly seasoned.
The hotel regularly organizes themed dinner evenings as well, although we found the prices for these to be quite steep. As a result, we often chose to eat outside the resort, where there are several very good options nearby.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay. The beautiful surroundings, spacious and private villa, friendly staff, peaceful atmosphere, and complete absence of the usual sun-lounger competition made this a particularly relaxing holiday. We would happily return.
We stayed 13 nights in a Grand Reserve Pool Villa, the resort's top category, with our 11-year-old daughter, booked as a package through British Airways Holidays. The good: the gardens and beach are genuinely beautiful, the villa is spacious with a private pool, and the staff are warm and willing. Correspondence before arrival was prompt and helpful.
Food and beverage: this is where it falls down. The resort displays a notice at breakfast advising guests that during peak hours (which they define as 08:30–10:15) there may be a 15–30 minute wait, and recommending you dine at 7am to avoid it. Being told to queue for breakfast at this level is not what we expected. The optional half-board and full-board upgrades are priced above what the identical three courses cost à la carte from the resort's own menus, and exclude imported steak, lobster and all drinks, and are non-refundable. Activities: several are chargeable in ways that surprised us. The scheduled group "Sunrise Yoga" is THB 500++ per person and is delivered by the resort's fitness instructor, who also leads the Thai boxing and the rest of the programme, rather than a yoga specialist. Four Seasons, Banyan Tree and Six Senses on this island all include group yoga.
Management: the most significant issue. Throughout our stay there was no empowered manager on the property. We were told the General Manager was in Europe, and the senior person available was unable to make decisions. Our formal complaint, raised via our tour operator, was relayed back to them inaccurately, and we had to correct it in writing before it was properly considered.
Value: for the Reserve category at this price, the experience did not match. Lovely bones, kind people, but poorly run and poor value.
