The Hammock Samui Beach Resort

We had an amazing time at Hammock - originally stayed for 3, but pushed it to 4 nights. Very helpful and sweet staff that obviously take pride in their job. Danica is a gem and a true hospitality professional to give specific credit. The beach it is on is far away from the hustle and bustle with a very sweet neighborhood just outside with everything you need: array of restaurants, bars, massages, pharmacy, travel agents and an awesome Thursday night market. Plus, there is easy access to motorbike and car rental to get out and see more and jet ski and paddle board rentals right next door. After seeing the rest of the island, we decided we found the best tucked away secret at an awesome price. They have a plentiful complimentary breakfast and 2 free waters daily.

The property is tenderly cared for. We saw gardeners working on it daily, it has some huge beautiful trees shading the apartments and beach in the afternoon that are honestly the prettiest trees along the beach and beautifully lit up at night. Pack light as the rooms are small and no dresser or closet. But that didn't bother us. The beach just outside the apartment and the bar /restaurant with pool right next to it were our living room, so we had PLENTY of space.

The Hammock Samui is a good value. It's older but clean. The bungalows are made of solid concrete with strong air conditioning. The "standard bungalow" is nice enough but missing a desk or even chair. You do have your own shaded porch with two chairs and a table if you want to be outside. The mattress is firm but high quality with decent enough linens and towel. They provide complementary bottled water, coffee, kettle, beach bag with beach towels, flip flops, umbrella and other nice touches. It's a very laid back vibe with a covered open air bar, small pool, padded lounges on the beach, etc.

The beach is amazing. It's beautiful water and white sand. The Hammock is roughly in the middle of what looks like miles of beach. And, even in peak season in January, it's not that crowded. The water is tropical warm. It's approaching paradise for beach lovers.

There are many restaurants within a 4 to 8 minute walk. For breakfast I can recommend the nearby About Cafe. Thursdays that street is pedestrians only for a street fair. There are other weekly events and celebrations nearby as well. There are also multiple 7 Elevens and Family Marts open 24 hours within a short walk. And, of course, the ubiquitous Thai massage business are plentiful and very inexpensive.

I used their airport transfer which was an extra 600 baht and worked out well. You can get a shared van for around 400 baht on your own. They also have a buffet style breakfast that looks appealing for, I believe, 200 baht but I ate elsewhere.

Overall I would stay at The Hammock again. It's a good value and a nice vibe.

The Hammock Samui is the best place to stay in Koh Samui, we had an amazing stay for 3 days 2 nights. the staff, the reservation staff especially give the best effort in order to help my partner do a surprise decoration for my birthday, last 16th Feb 2020. I love the view from our unit itself. It's undeniably breathtaking! we just don't want to leave our room. The front office staff, Diu is very helpful and friendly. Danita, the reservation staff helped us make a call for my ferry arrangement while the another Front Office staff, a guy didn't have an effort to help us to make a call to Seatran. He even asked us to go to Seatran Office on our own, but thanks to Danita, she manage to help us with our ferry schedule. so to conclude our stay, I would like to express my deepest thanks to Diu, Danita and 2 Housekeeping staff for making our stay the memorable stay. We will surely come back to your property for our anniversary and The Hammock Samui is highly recommended.
