The hotel and rooms are very clean in general, the staff are absolutely lovely and genuinely happy to help you with any needs, the pool is nice and clean, the access is perfect for all needs too. We also ate at the restaurant for lunch one day, although the menu is vegan/vegetarian which isn’t specifically a dietary requirement of ours, the food was really good. The rooms are cleaned/refreshed daily with water being supplied daily too.
Samaya has changed over the years and now has ben upgraded and renovated. A wellness program is now included in your stay. Guests can enjoy free yoga, meditation and sound baths. Love what the new owners have created. It is close to everything you need. I have been staying at Samaya for over -5 years. Well done!
At the moment not happy with the service. Fly to the hotel tomorrow and not received any booking confirmation. Tried ringing .texting and emailing but to no avail .they have taken the money .and the room number we booked is still available on their site .booked directly with them on their own site .so at the moment stressed if there is a room for us when we arrive .
Well this was an experience in a very tired hotel. The setting by the beach was great and breakfast was good. We had a problem with my sons room ( room with sea view 3/4 was a wall ) they offered to change room next day so that was good until the next room smelt of sewage when air con was on ,so their solution was air fresheners in the vents 🧐🤣 we asked for a fan so we didn’t need to put air con on but never arrived,so the next night exactly the same and again air fresheners and asked for a fan no fan came again. I went the next morning to reception with my Google translate and said that I thought this was unacceptable 3 nights in a row first the wall view and 2 nights of sewage smell. I asked that I felt a refund for these nights would have been courteous but it was a FIRM NO and offered an upgrade for last 2 nights I explained what about the other 3 nights ? Answer was we are giving you an upgrade whoop how generous. We didn’t take the upgrade as my sons said they couldn’t be bothered again to move again , we asked for a fan NO FAN thought third time lucky we might get one but alas no !! The other rooms for the family were good but needed some TLC When we checked out we had a bill for bottled water 🙈 apparently one of my sons had asked for some water ( they leave you 2 in your room free each day ) but on this particular day the room hadn’t been cleaned by 3pm so he asked the housekeeper for his water. When we checked out there was a bill for extra water we questioned it especially after all the problems we had previously and they said it was extra and that was that. We paid it but definitely left and bad taste overall. Manager was not budging on her stance that the upgrade they offered for 2 nights was a good deal and basically that was that. Definitely wouldn’t go there again
I’m laying on a sunbed (in the shade as I write this). We read the reviews before we arrived, So here’s the latest.. Pick a room that’s right for you… As with a lot of hotels they are just off or on the main road, if you’re after tranquility you need to pick a sea view room. If you’re used to living next to a busy road (cars & moped) as we were, then the mountain side view rooms were fine for us. Family Room was large, with plenty enough space. Room was great, although if I was to be very picky, shower door and carpet could be improved, everything else in room was great. Just so you know, cars & mopeds are always going past throughout the day and night. Beach is shallow water with rough sand and small rocks beneath the water. It is a lovely spot, although you’d need to head right for a stroll before you find a less rocky beach to practically swim in. Close by is a public outdoor gym, basically in the sea. Obviously equipment is basic but you can always go to an air conditioned gym near by. Hotel service and employee are great, pool & beach towels & sunbeds provided . Breakfast is high quality geared towards healthier eating. Various yoga classes going on, which seem popular but not something we do. The usual Thai street food , Restaurants and 7-11 stores within walking distance.
