- Rummana Boutique Resort

This magnificent resort is situated at the southern end of Lamai Beach in a quiet and secluded area perfect for guests who wish to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere. Within walking distance guests will be able to reach Lamai town where a large variety of local bars restaurants and pubs is offered to the public. Hin Ta Hin Yai in Thai, famous touristic attraction can be found not far from the premises. Samui Airport is approximately 18 km away.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Nice beach, very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast buffet, rooms very clean, plenty of sun lounges, food in the restaurant very nice, Not many shops but you can take a taxi to Lamai night markets or Lamai central, lots of restaurants and shops there.
Stayed at rummana hotel for 17 days, what a wonderful place. Great breakfast, beautiful staff, rooms were cleaned everyday. The facilities including the pool and beach were first class, plenty of great restaurants and shops nearby, definitely come back again
This boutique hotel exceeds all expectations, it is in a beautiful setting, staff were very welcoming. The room was large clean and very comfortable, with a good shower. A good breakfast. Again the staff were excellent. The location on the beach was great and the pool area was good. The only negative is the flooring around the pool, the gravelly floors stick to your feet. Walk left on the beach and do a some great restaurants and bars.
Disappointing Experience at Check-Out
We had a decent stay at Rummana Boutique in Koh Samui, but unfortunately, our experience was completely overshadowed by an upsetting incident during check-out. We were charged 1,200 baht for cleaning one towel and a few small drops on the bed cover because my wife unexpectedly got her period during the night.
This situation was handled with zero empathy or understanding from the staff, making us feel extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed. Period accidents are natural and can happen to any woman, yet instead of handling it discreetly or with compassion, we were hit with an unreasonable cleaning fee that felt more like a penalty.
This insensitive approach ruined our last day of the trip and left us with a negative impression right before heading home. Hospitality isn’t just about the room and facilities—it’s about how guests are treated, especially in sensitive situations. Sadly, Rummana Boutique failed in this regard. We hope they reconsider their policies and train their staff to handle such situations with more kindness and professionalism.
We spent 7 amazing days at Rummana with our two older kids (21 and 19) last week. We had two rooms and although there were not twin beds for the kids (we were aware before we came) the huge bed had been made up with 2 sets of bedding which was a great touch. The rooms were lovely. Modern, clean, good air con, massive shower and an amazing smell coming from the crystal burner. Weaving your way through the planting and rooms makes you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere and it was so peaceful there. There were plenty of comfortable beds around the pool area and overlooking the beach. Not a massive pool and we only used for the odd dip as why swim in that when just a few meters away is an amazing sea! Calm, clear and warm. Get a snorkel and look at the fish. The hotel is towards the bottom of Lamai Beach and as such there are no sellers bothering you and virtually an empty beach. We had breakfast included and was nice with cereal, fruit, pastries, bread for toasting, bacon and a chef on hand to make omelette, fried eggs or scrambled eggs. We only had lunch in the hotel once and that was reasonable value and lovely. There are plenty of bars and restaurants along the beach and it's only about a 20 min walk along the beach to Central Samui and 25 mins to the night market. We walked along the beach to and from restaurants and bars (you can walk along the road to them but that was not as pretty and much noisier) in the evening and it was perfectly safe. The main strip has the usual bars, restaurants, shops and sights but not too in your face. The staff at Rummana were so friendly and helpful whether on reception, working the beach bar, serving in the restaurant or cleaning the rooms. The path areas around the pool are not the most comfortable to walk on but no big issue and with flip flops or sliders on it makes no odds. We would definitely recommend
