We’ve stayed at New Star Beach Resort three times now first in 2007, then again in 2015 and 2017 and each visit reminded us why we keep coming back. The location is amazing, set on a quiet stretch of Chaweng Noi beach with soft white sand and calm, clear water. It’s peaceful and feels like your own little hideaway, yet still close enough to Chaweng if you want a bit more buzz. What really makes New Star special is the hospitality. Thai friendliness is always something special, but here it feels extra genuine. From the first smile at check-in to the little touches throughout our stay, the staff always made us feel more like family than guests. Food was another highlight for us, especially the Thai dishes fresh, flavourful, and full of that authentic taste you just can’t get anywhere else. Breakfast was generous with plenty of choice, but those fragrant curries, stir-fries, and seafood dinners by the beach are what we’ll always remember. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and while some parts of the décor are starting to show their age, everything is well cared for and spotlessly clean. The gardens and pool area are beautiful too, perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach. After three visits, what stands out most is that New Star has never lost its warmth and charm. It may not be flashy luxury, but it has something even better peace, friendliness, and a sense of home that keeps drawing us back. If you’re looking for a laid-back, family-friendly resort in Koh Samui with amazing food and truly genuine hospitality, New Star is a place you’ll be glad you chose.

Super choice in samui
Excellent experience. Great location on one of best beaches in samui. Staff is very kind and take good care of all needs. I was moved from balcony room to the suite. Both rooms are clean, comfortable and peaceful. Recommended
Amazing stay, beyond perfect!
Pretty much the best hotel in all of Koh Samui. The cottages are (albeit a bit dark) beautiful, roomy, clean, and the outside terrace is perfect for relaxing in the afternoon. The entire hotel is nestled among trees and greenery; the beach is absolutely amazing, and the sun loungers are very comfortable. The food is amazing, and the same goes for the cocktails. The staff is incredibly nice, helpful, and always welcoming. Our biggest thank you goes to the wonderful Ms. Nune. We had a minor issue with our cottage, and she solved it immediately. Thanks to the staff and especially Ms. Nune, we had one of the most amazing holidays. We will definitely come back.
Tranquil hotel with fantastic pool.
Nice hotel set on the hillside with lush well kept gardens. Probably not ideal for folk with mobility problems although they do take you to rooms in golf buggies. A massive beautiful pool with jacuzzi areas. Hotel is right on a beautiful beach with loads of loungers at both beach and pool. Very tranquil and relaxing. Breakfast is good, not loads but has everything you need and staff at breakfast are so nice. Rooms are very nice but we moved to a smaller bungalow as we had no view and our bathroom had a high platform/walk way with stones underneath. Beautiful feature but absolutely lethal going to the toilet in the dark at night. Shame as the bathroom complete with huge bath and walk in shower was enormous. Our seafront bungalow was small but perfect and housekeeping was great. Pool bar is a lovely setting but outwith happy hour drinks and food are much more expensive than the places outside. We would never have left the resort had it been better value. Happy hour drinks are better value though. Bamboo bar at the hotel entrance is excellent- try their pizzas- this place was full each night with hotel guests. Staff were friendly and service was good. We also got a cake and bottle of bubbles for our anniversary- really nice. I would stay here again for the tranquil setting and fab pool but would need to pick the right room.

Struttura non all altezza di un resort
The cottage is not cleaning. We are a lort of spiders on the bed and on the table. The spiders Bite. At the check out the receptionist charged me 200 bat for a laudry bag and told me i stole it. In the Room there is not the laudry bag. Sge offended me and said that italian steal. The is not room servire after 10 pm and the restaurant in the resort is not good.
