Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We stayed in a beachfront bungalow which cost about $150AUD per night. Cheap clean and cheerful but the location and beach are top notch. Staff very helpful and sorted out some scooter for 250baht per day without deposit or passport. Buffet breakfast included is pretty good. Highly recommend. The only downside the rooms are a little dated but who cares when it's 20 steps to crystal clear ocean
Me and my wife are traveling around Thailand for vacations. We planned to stay here for a week because of their nice beach and to see the room and facilities. The room is in average condition, though it is not the worst part.
The staff were extremely rude and unprofessional with my wife even during the hotel overview. They were so rude that she even ran away from there, but they followed her. There was a person who hit our car when I was inside. I came back to the reception and that guy began to threaten me (he was wearing a hotel uniform, though without a name badge). We called the manager, and she explained to us that such behavior is tolerated for them and no one did anything to stop it; they even refused to call the police when we asked twice.
Such a shame and unbelievable in any tourist place, especially in Thailand, especially on this island. It is hard to imagine that this is the reality for the hotel. If you care about your safety and your time, do not repeat our mistake—stay away from this place.
Worth noting that we left the hotel without checking in.
this was my second time here. The first in 2019 with my family and the second with my husband. (honeymoon). Lovely hotel, nice beach
In a good location towards the end of chewang beach, 50 mts from traffic . Nice gardens well looked after by the staff who are very friendly and helpful. It does need refreshing up in places but you get what you pay for. Beach bungalows are detached and semi detached but you don’t know which one you’ll get until check in. You can hear next door if you’re in a semi detached bungalow, the shower needs modifications to the hose and attachments, it’s too small so you have to stoop. Large pool with plenty of sun beds but you will have to get your towels down early because there’s a certain clientele from a country who are well known for putting their towels down very early. Breakfast is busy with plenty of choice but the toast situation is slow. Staff again are great replenishment of good and clearing up. Beach is nice but plastic is an issue being washed up but lazy ignorant people do leave their rubbish on the beach. Overall not a bad place to stay for less £1000 a week with breakfast.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience deserves a very clear warning to future guests. The room was completely misrepresented. It was advertised as having a balcony/terrace, but in reality it was a tiny approximately 1m² space directly facing a wall about one meter away. There was virtually no natural light entering the room. Nowhere in the listing was it disclosed that the room effectively has no daylight. Even more importantly, it was not stated that the room is located in a separate building off the main property. This significantly changes the standard and overall experience of the stay. This is a material omission and absolutely should be disclosed in the offer. The room also had a strong mold/fungus smell. As someone with asthma, this posed a serious health risk and made it impossible for me to stay there. We were forced to find alternative accommodation at the last minute, which cost us significantly more money. What is even more concerning is Agoda’s handling of the situation. For days, Agoda has claimed they are “unable to contact the hotel,” yet the property remains actively listed and bookable on the platform. The same room category is still being sold with the same misleading description. Agoda also aggregates reviews from platforms such as Booking.com, but does not display a significant number of one-star reviews that are visible there. This creates a misleading overall impression of the property and raises serious concerns about transparency. This was not simply a disappointing stay — it was a clear case of misrepresentation combined with a complete lack of accountability. I feel misled both by the property and by Agoda’s platform. I strongly advise future guests to double-check reviews on multiple platforms and to be extremely cautious before booking this room. Very disappointing experience.
