Tropical Paradise in Koh Samui
I stayed at Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui for two nights in September in a pool villa and had a wonderful experience.
The resort has its own unique charm and character. While some areas are a little dated and, as with any established resort, there is always room for improvement, this is also part of what makes the property feel authentic and distinctive rather than overly polished or generic.
I was particularly impressed by the presence and engagement of the senior management team, who were regularly around the resort and interacting with guests - even on the weekends.
One of the highlights of my stay was the beach and water sports experience. The team gave me a great introduction and some very helpful advice before I went stand-up paddling. I ended up having one of the best sunset SUP sessions I have ever experienced – absolutely beautiful and definitely one of the memories I will take away from this stay.
The beach and pool facilities are nice, and having a tennis court is another great addition as people play more paddle. Breakfast was excellent, and the late lunch I had at the resort was equally enjoyable, with delicious and authentic food.
What impressed me most was how well organized and professional the entire team was while still being genuinely warm and friendly.

Tranquil Resort
We booked 5 nights in a hillside pool room and were upgraded to a Seaview pool villa. The room and outdoor area were enormous, and kept immaculately clean. We didn’t use the buggies but there are a lot of steps getting around the resort which we didn’t mind. Breakfast was outstanding with delicious fresh juices, danishes and eggs to order. There are more than 10 different breads to choose from. We only ate dinner there on our first night and it was very good quality but our budget for this holiday meant some walks down the hill to some local restaurants. The closest and best being Mr. Eung about a 15 min walk away. All the staff were kind and attentive, and seemed to enjoy working there. The thing we liked the most was the privacy and quiet of the resort. It’s a private beach so no walkers by, no road noise. Just birds. The resort and traveller photos don’t really show how lush the grounds are. We moved on to another pre booked hotel, and although a lovely hotel, we instantly wanted to be back at Garrya!
