- Mandapa A Ritz Carlton Reserve

As a resort surrounded by the Ayung River in Ubud, a district known for its natural beauty, Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve captures both the magic of Bali and the serenity of seclusion. The charm of this hotel lies not only in its spiritual and cultural richness, but in the joy of simply letting go. Here, surrounded by verdant rice paddies and ancient temples, guests will find joy in escaping daily distractions while turning to more relaxing endeavours, whether practicing yoga in a peaceful pavilion, biking through nearby villages, experiencing the local Balinese cuisine, or surrendering to pure bliss at the hands of an experienced spa therapist.
Everything was excellent like locations, rooms were perfect , clean and with all amenities that you look for, they keep our room clean (twice a day room makeup), excellent service , great breakfast in the morning and all excellent restaurants where we had a dinner, Very quiet and cozy area . Kewin and Vanessa both were very friendly and helpful, they took care of us like a family,
I’ve been fortunate enough to stay at many luxury hotels and five-star resorts around the world, and Mandapa is, without question, my favorite hotel experience I’ve ever had.
What makes Mandapa so special isn’t just the stunning property - it’s the people. This stay completely changed my perspective on what true five-star hospitality looks like. Every single staff member seemed genuinely invested in making our experience unforgettable. Whether it was the team at the pool, breakfast, dinner service, housekeeping, or the incredible team behind the special Dinner Under the Stars experience, everyone delivered hospitality at a level I’ve never experienced before.
A special thank you to our butlers, Tira and Caca, who were simply exceptional. They anticipated our needs before we even realized them ourselves, thought of countless small details that made our stay feel personal, and consistently went above and beyond. From thoughtful surprises and gifts to their incredible attentiveness and warmth, they made us feel truly cared for throughout our stay. They are a huge reason why this trip was so memorable.
The property itself is breathtaking. Nestled along the Ayung River, Mandapa feels like a sanctuary. Every view is beautiful, the villas are stunning, the amenities are world-class, and the food was outstanding from start to finish. In fact, we loved the resort so much that we canceled some off-property excursions simply because we wanted more time to enjoy everything the property had to offer.
What impressed us most was how effortless everything felt. There seemed to be an entire army of talented people working behind the scenes to create a seamless experience, yet every interaction felt personal and genuine. That’s incredibly rare.
Absolutely beyond exceptional. The service, the view the rooms. Could not have had a better experience. Niti was our personal helper and was available at every moment to make our stay unforgettable. She was always one step ahead anticipating what we needed and making it happen. I would without a doubt recommend this as the best hotel I’ve been to in a long time. We are currently at the st Regis in Bali and this feels like any average hotel you would see in Hawaii. However the ritz was exceptional and every corner made you realize you were in a magical countryn
Take this from a very picky traveler. Mandapa is every bit as wonderful as most of the reviews here say it is. Book the River Villa, do the river raft excursion, enjoy the spa (ask for Rhea). Thania and Nessa were my butlers and they were incredibly fun and easy to work with. And Both Ambar and Kudu were excellent meals. Also if you're lucky to be there on Sunday, the brunch is pretty special.
Mandapa genuinely earns its “Reserve” distinction—this is by far the most exceptional Ritz-Carlton property we have ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, every aspect of our stay was impeccable. For travelers considering the accommodations, the entry-level suites are simply the best base rooms of any luxury resort we’ve visited, offering an incredible amount of space and comfort. We were incredibly fortunate to receive a complimentary upgrade to a villa, which ended up being the absolute cherry on top of a flawless stay.
While the property doesn't currently have an Indian chef on staff, the culinary team went completely above and beyond to accommodate our specific Indian breakfast requests every morning. Their willingness to tailor the menu to our preferences speaks volumes about their hospitality. As a point of comparison, we visited the nearby Four Seasons for lunch during our trip, and found Mandapa to be significantly more polished and refined as a property.
The true highlight of Mandapa, however, is the people. A massive thank you to Jauron for the wonderful, engaging chats, and to our butler, Agun, for seamlessly handling all the little things that elevated our daily routine. I apologize if I have misspelled your names, but I sincerely hope this message reaches management as an acknowledgment of the time, energy, and genuine warmth you invested in making our trip so memorable.
