This hotel is located in southeast Ubud. The hotel includes a lobby with a 24-hour reception desk with check-in and check-out around the clock, a bar, a restaurant, laundry and room services, bike hire and a private car park near the lobby area. The hotel has been constructed from traditional equipment and materials and reflects the Balinese style of architecture. It includes large and spacious rooms which offer the ultimate level of privacy as well as an atmosphere in which guests can relax and feel comfortable. The rooms are well - equipped as a standard. Leisure options available for guests include having a refreshing swim in the outdoor pool or treating oneself to a massage or aromatherapy treatment. In the restaurant guests can enjoy a wide selection of cuisine, ranging from contemporary western to innovative Indonesian and Balinese specialties, served in a fresh atmosphere.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Beautiful traditional Balinese property. The grounds are very well kept, room was clean and most of all the staff were friendly and helpful. 10/10 and would highly recommend this property. Exceptional customer service, staff always with a smile. Made me feel at home. Will definitely be back again. Thank you for making our stay memorable.
Stunning hotel with such a relaxing atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of Ubud but close enough and very easy to get to. Delicious food, wonderful staff, would highly recommend staying to anyone visiting Ubud.
We unfortunately cannot recommend this hotel, as our stay began with one of the most stressful and disappointing experiences we have ever had while traveling.
We arrived in the evening, tired and with our young child, only to be denied access to our room. The reason: the staff insisted on charging an additional fee for an extra bed, even though our confirmed Expedia booking clearly stated that one child (6 years old) was included free of charge.
Instead of a smooth check-in, we were forced into long and frustrating discussions with the staff, who repeatedly cited “policy” and demanded an ridiculous 900,000 IDR (~50€) per night (later “reduced” to 800,000 IDR). There was no flexibility, empathy, or basic hospitality. We were left waiting until almost 11pm, when Expedia finally intervened on our behalf and the bed was eventually prepared.
This was a very poor start to what should have been a relaxing family holiday. The experience stood in stark contrast to the warm welcome and care the hotel claims in its own welcome letter. Sadly, our arrival felt the complete opposite: rigid, unhelpful, and inconsiderate.
One day the staff left the door to the no-roof-bathroom open and that night we had a lot of mosquitos bites for our son.
Also, walking in the neighborhood is not easy with kids as there are holes everywhere and traffic in Ubud is just awful.
The hotel is dirty and in a state of disrepair. It is old, run-down, and should not be booked. The staff are extremely rude. You cannot even wash your hair properly because the water pressure is so low. When we raised these issues with the staff, we were met with laughter. Filth is everywhere. The pool is old and poorly maintained. Out of sheer desperation, after repeatedly complaining in an attempt to salvage our vacation, we decided to leave the hotel. We were then confronted with a disclaimer. After a lengthy discussion, the staff agreed to refund us for one night—yet to this day, we have received nothing. They lie and abandon guests when complaints are raised. If you want a peaceful vacation in a clean hotel, do not book this property.
If you're headed to Ubud and searching for a property that feels like a true sanctuary, look no further than Svarga Bebek Villas. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place is something special.
The grounds alone are worth the stay. Lush rice fields, cascading flowers, serene koi ponds, and beautifully designed swimming pools create an atmosphere that is equal parts tranquil and breathtaking. Every corner of the property feels thoughtfully curated — you genuinely never want to leave.
Our rooms were comfortable and restful, with surprisingly good sound insulation that allowed us to recharge even after full days of exploring. The dining at the Orchid Duck restaurant was so consistently delicious that we found ourselves happily eating the majority of our meals right on the property — and never once felt like we were missing out on anything.
The onsite spa was a wonderful bonus. We were able to schedule massages with ease, and they were nothing short of glorious — the perfect way to unwind after adventures around Ubud.
But what truly elevated our experience above all else was the staff. Every single interaction was warm, professional, and genuinely caring. Neesa at the Orchid Duck restaurant made every meal feel like a personal occasion. Fina at the front desk set the tone for our entire stay with a flawless, welcoming check-in. And then there is Rio, the manager — Rio is simply in a class of his own. He went above and beyond for our group at every turn, anticipating needs before we even voiced them and ensuring everything ran smoothly throughout our visit. He is a true asset to this property.
One more standout feature: the hotel's WhatsApp concierge is a game-changer. Whether we needed a shuttle, wanted to book an excursion, or had a last-minute request at an odd hour, the team was responsive and accommodating around the clock. It made planning feel completely effortless.
Svarga Bebek Villas is not just a hotel — it's an experience. I would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone traveling to Ubud. You will not be disappointed.
