I believe this was my 20th visit to the Oberoi.Clearly it is one of my favourite hotels.It is,however,extremely encouraging to see some new changes for the better.its hard to improve on perfection but the Oberoi have managed it!! Small things--new napkins,new dispensers in the shower and so forth.It shows that management aka John Halpin--are really on the ball.Congratulations.
The major change was in the Kura Kura restaurant.The food was always good but on this visit there is a noticible difference.I can only describe my meal as stratospheric.As the Michelin guide writes "worth a special journey"I cant wait to go back

Heaven in Bali
I have always wanted to stay here and finally that week has come. What a experience . It is the whole package .for such an old resort the up keep has been well done the gardens are the best I have seen and the service is 5 star . Thankyou Oberoi for the best stay .

A Classy Oasis in Seminyak
Many reviews for the Oberoi Beach Resort Bali comment about it feeling like an oasis in the middle of busy Seminyak. This is a true observation, its serene gardens and traditional Balinese style architecture really do provide a restful break for guests. If you're looking for full-on Seminyak excitemet with a party atmosphere in a contemporary environment, this is not the hotel for you (although these venues are just up the street if you want to mix it up a little). This is a classic resort that takes its cues from the local culture and provides guests with a relaxing experience in a beautiful environment and attentive service. Speaking of service, it is outstanding, it's attentive, personal and professional. Above all it's friendly and accommodating. Guest's names and preferences are remembered and any expectations quickly met. The dining experience is excellent both in the restaurant and outdoor cafe as well as the regular additional events held during the week. We had a week in one of the Luxury Garden View Villas with a Pool. The space was outstanding, with an area comparable to a suburban house block. The villa's pool was huge. It was truly an oasis within an oasis, and was quiet and extemely private. My only slight criticism is that the main resort pool isn't as large as some newer resorts, and not as large as the similar Oberoi Resort in Lombok. However, this is a relatively minor point. This has been a resort I've wanted to stay at for some time, and I wasn't disappointed. It was outstanding and I'm certain there'll be a return visit.
