The Elysian Boutique Villa Hotel

What an absolute gem! The Elysian turned out to be everything we hoped for in a relaxing Bali getaway, and then some.

First, the staff deserve a special mention. Incredibly friendly, genuinely warm, always smiling, and wonderfully accommodating. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble. That beautiful Balinese hospitality really shines through here.

We stayed in a one-bedroom private pool villa, and honestly, it was so good that every time we ventured out, we found ourselves looking forward to getting back!

The villa is beautifully designed for comfort, relaxation, and privacy. A spacious living area with wonderfully high ceilings, a large shower, and, importantly, a genuinely comfortable, supportive bed with a lovely selection of pillows. For anyone who appreciates a good night’s sleep while travelling, this is a big plus!

But the real star? Our private swimming pool! Approximately 7 metres by 2.5 metres, beautifully maintained, cleaned and chemically balanced daily, and always at that perfect temperature where you can just slip in and forget about the world.

We absolutely loved putting on our favourite music, enjoying a drink, and spending hours soaking in the pool, completely secluded from everything. Pure bliss!

The location is another winner. Despite the peaceful, private setting, you’re only about a relaxed 10-minute stroll from the beach, with plenty of great dining and entertainment options nearby.

Breakfast was consistently enjoyable, with a generous variety of Western and local Balinese favourites, including delicious nasi dishes. There’s plenty to choose from, and it never felt repetitive.

The hotel bar also deserves credit for its excellent selection of drinks and food available throughout the day. Whether you’re after a cocktail, something light, or a proper meal, you’re well catered for.

The spa is absolutely worth experiencing! An impressive variety of treatments, ranging from therapeutic massages and beauty treatments to jet-lag recovery options. The service and overall experience were exceptional, and we’d highly recommend making time for at least one treatment.

We also attended the hotel’s BBQ night, which was a memorable experience, particularly thanks to the wonderful traditional Balinese dancers and performers. The entertainment was fantastic! The buffet itself was fairly average, to be fair. We enjoyed the seafood considerably more than the meat selection. But hey, it’s all you can eat, and the atmosphere and performances made for a lovely evening! 😎

A couple of tips for fellow travellers:

Just outside the hotel’s doorstep is a lovely Australian-style café. If you’re missing a proper long black, a beef pie, or a sausage roll, you’re in luck! They also offer plenty of other food options.

And don’t miss KU DE TA, down by the beach. We highly recommend arriving around 5 pm and securing a comfortable sofa or lounge seat for sunset. Enjoy a cocktail, order some delicious food, and watch the sun go down over the ocean. It’s a wonderfully romantic experience and a must-do while staying in Seminyak.

Our overall verdict?

The Elysian strikes a wonderful balance between luxury, privacy, comfort, and genuine Balinese hospitality. It’s close enough to everything you might want to explore, yet feels like your own secluded little sanctuary.

We’ve stayed in plenty of lovely places, but it’s not often that a hotel makes you genuinely excited to return to your room rather than go out exploring!

That, to us, says everything.

Incredible 5 star experience! Recommend anyone travelling to Seminyak to stay here. Our villa was beautiful, the staff are kind and attentive and their restaurants food is delicious. Room service is such a bonus and the private pool is stunning
