From Perfect to Magical
A magical experience in Bali. The property is outstanding. We enjoyed an upgraded suite with a terrace and an infinity pool a few steps from our day. From a day at the beach to arranging for golf and transportation, this stay highlights how perfect services operate in the background but enhance the experience in fundamental ways. Everyone was pleasant, helpful, always greeting us with a welcoming smile. Alila gets it right and that makes all the difference in enjoying Bali

Hyatt needs to make a management change asap to this hotel!
I stayed at Aliya Seminyak for the second time, and most recently following lower face and neck lift surgery. The hotel was very aware of this. My whole face is wrapped very tightly making talking and eating very difficult except I had to eat and take my medication with food 2 times a day. There are no al a carte breakfast options at Sea Salt restaurant - it is one price for all you can eat style via the buffet or menu, making it expensive for someone having half a plate of scrambled eggs. The worst was ordering a single chicken sandwich via room service - I specifically said two slices of bread, just chicken. They phoned me back in the room and said “the chef is suggesting a club sandwich”, I said I can’t eat a club sandwich my mouth won’t open that wide. They asked did I want chips and told them no twice. The meal turns up with a layered chicken double sandwich exactly like a club sandwich with chips as well. Opposite of what I ordered - I refused it and actually had to leave the hotel and go to a supermarket at the end of the road to the hotel to get something to eat. The next day I ordered hash browns via room service with ketchup on the side. It arrived with mustard on the side and the staff member told me, “the chef said the mustard is nice with this”. I said huh, I don’t like mustard, can I please have ketchup quickly before my hash browns go cold? After 10 mins of waiting, I phoned room service again, there was no hurrying and by the time they arrived with the ketchup, the hash browns were stone cold. Again left the hotel hungry as had a flight to catch. The final insult was being charged for my small breakfast each day, despite Rina the Guest Experience Manager being aware of all the issues I experienced. The Alila Seminyak is not a luxury hotel, or at least the service and management aren’t and Hyatt should make changes asap.

A Big Thumbs Up 👍
This is our 4th visit in the last year and cannot rate the hotel highly enough. The rooms and grounds are kept in great condition. There are 3 large pool choices all with clear ocean views and there are always sun lounges available even when the hotel is busy. Seasalt where breakfast is served is one of the best with both a buffet selection and made to order available. The main reason we keep returning is the helpful and friendly staff lead by Rina who is always so warm and welcoming which is why we keep coming back.

Very good hotel but busy at times
We stayed at the Alila resort for 2 nights in an ocean view suite with a great view of the Indian ocean. We arrived by hotel car from the airport which is worth doing so you don't have to wait for taxis at the airport. The check in was fine with a slight delay whilst waiting for final checks as the hotel was busy due to peak time in Bali. The suite on the 3rd floor contained 2 sofas, large bathroom and a king bed. Lack of hooks outside the shower meant you got wet feet every time you needed to hang the towel up after a shower. There are 3 pools to choose from with the lowest one being for mixed children and adults. I don't understand how the hotel let people smoke around the pool and immediate bar areas. This needs to be better policed as plenty of security guards looking bored so it would give them something to do. Bar is popular at sunset but the aperol spritzes were watered down with too much ice. We had a pizza there one day and coffee which were good. Breakfast was mainly al a carte for cooked eggs and there were plenty of options. Service was a bit slow at times but nothing too bad. Pipit the server was lovely and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Next time I would stay next door at either the Samara or the Legian which is a bit more expensive. Other hotels further up the beach like potato head and the W looked awful. Don't get a room on the day/evening night club of the Miss Sippy as the loud doof doof goes all afternoon into the early evening. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel as there many good restaurants nearby such as Bambu.
