Special and unique.
There are generic, formulaic hotels and there are unique hotels. Tandjung Sari is unique in every way, from the actual buildings, to the service and the absolute attention to every detail.
This hotel couldn't be anywhere else in the world, a proper Balinesque experience.
Wherever we travel, we love to get out of our hotel and experience the wider area, at Tandjung Sari we couldn't drag ourselves away from the hotel and private beach. We had a beachfront bungalow, gorgeous comfortable bed, inside and outside shower, his and hers wash basins, and a brilliant evening room service including mosquito repellent and bed canopy - we only had 3 mosquito bites between us in 12 days! The restaurant and food is first class, as is the bar and cocktails. The whole place is decorated with Balinese antiques and Asian statuary.
What makes Tandjung Sari true special though is the staff, and I mean, ALL the staff - always on hand, a smile for everyone and absolutely nothing is too much trouble.
The best hotel we've ever stayed in and delighted to say we're booked in again next year.

Tranquil and serene! This beautiful resort will transport you!
My second stay at Tandjung Sari was a very memorable one! Exactly 40 years ago my parents brought me here on a grand tour of Asia and we had a wonderful time. I have thought of Sanur beach and Tandjung Sari for many years but somehow life took us in other directions. Now I finally returned to this paradise with my husband for our 30th wedding anniversary and I was delighted to discover it was everything I remembered and more!
The hand painted tiles and walls, the intricate woodwork and paintings on the doors and wall panels. Balinese craftsmanship and art objects are on display thoughtfully and quietly around the property, along with flowering bushes and trees and water features bubbling peacefully.
The gracious men and women who work here treat their guests like family and no request is denied. Our morning breakfasts by the pool looking out over Sanur beach to Mt. Agung were picture perfect! Every meal was presented beautifully and was fresh and flavorful. I enjoyed the tropical fruits each morning and my husband had Nasi Kuning or eggs Benedict. The dinners were equally delicious and with the variety of foods on the menu we felt no need to eat anywhere else!
Thank you to everyone at Tandjung Sari for making our Anniversary a very special celebration! Finding my Mother’s handwriting in your guestbook from 1986 brought me to tears and I am forever grateful for your kindness. We will return!

Stunning beachfront hotel
Stunning beachfront hotel. Beautiful large rooms with an enormous bath and outside shower, personal garden with loungers. Good sized pool. Very good food and a comprehensive breakfast menu. Thank you Annie who served us, very helpful and friendly. Wish we could have stayed longer
The GOAT
My annual review of Tandjung Sari, by far the most wonderful place to stay in lovely Sanur, and perhaps all of Bali. This is Bali as it was fifty years ago. It’s elegant, peaceful and epitomises barefoot luxury. The rooms, the restaurant and the beautiful beach are spacious and luxurious. I couldn’t single out a staff member for praise—they are all kind and attentive, and interesting people. breakfast, concerts and the vibe are perfection. Thank you all, you know who you are!

Balinese gem
I chose this hotel because the location seemed ideal, close to Icon Bali, and the beach looked beautiful and not crowded. This all turned out to be true when we arrived. The hotel has a lovely driveway that leads to the reception, which has a stunning Balinese design. When we arrived, they struck a gong to welcome us as new guests, such a nice touch. Due to renovations, they gave us an upgrade halfway through our stay to a beautiful bungalow, which was truly fantastic. The room was excellent, and housekeeping was very thorough. The restaurant overlooks the boulevard and the beach, which we really enjoyed. For breakfast you can order à la carte and the food was delicious. The service was outstanding, with incredibly friendly staff who quickly got to know us by name. In the evening, we had the rijsttafel, with tables set up on the beach, an amazing setting. The rijsttafel was delicious, and we also really enjoyed the gado gado in the afternoon. The resort is beautifully laid out, set within lush gardens and full of Balinese details. We also loved spending time on the beach. When you arrive, a staff member brings towels and sets you up just the way you like. You can place a sign in your umbrella, and the restaurant staff will come over, top service! The loungers are spaced far apart, giving you plenty of privacy and making it feel very intimate. This resort is highly recommended, and we hope to return again very soon.
