Comfortable stay
This was our third stay at Maya Sanur, and while we enjoyed our visit and the staff were friendly and welcoming, we felt the overall standard was not quite as good as on our previous stays.
Our room was lovely and the location remains excellent. However, the pool area, including the chairs and decking, is looking tired and would benefit from some refurbishment.
We were also disappointed when our request for a late checkout was declined, despite being happy to pay for it. We were told there were no rooms available, yet rooms were still showing as available to book on Booking.com. This was disappointing, particularly as returning guests.
With several new resorts being developed in Sanur, Maya will face increasing competition. We feel some investment and attention to detail is needed to maintain its five-star position.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but unfortunately we would not rate Maya Sanur as a five-star resort at present. We hope the resort takes this feedback constructively, as we have enjoyed our previous stays and would love to see it return to the standard we remember.

Nice atmosphere and superb staff
Nice environment and staff, great experience strating from checkin with Mirah at the front desk all the way til checkout. The pool is of course the highlight, we spent two afternoon there with great service overall, would be perfect if there is less fly around but the disturbance is at minimum level. Overall a fantastic trip, looking forward to stay here next time.

Fabulous and memorable stay at the beautiful Maya Resort
We had a wonderful and memorable stay at the Maya Resort in Sanur. The resort is absolutely beautiful, great location, our room was so large and the bed was extremely comfortable. The pool overlooked the ocean and was so relaxing, many hours spent poolside. Highlights of our stay were the magnificent massages at the Spa and Wellness center and the indonesian cooking class, many thanks to Padmia for recommending. Our chef Dwi was amazing to cook with and very patient with us and Cahya was a wonderful hostess on the day. We certainly will take those recipes home with us and remember the day. The whole Maya team were welcoming and hospitable and made our stay very special. We hope to return one day soon. Kind regards, M&M
Tropical seaside Sanur
Great location & beautiful facilities, especially the pool. Love the beach front restaurant & Bar. An excellent buffet breakfast daily. Pool side menu was great too. Highly recommend this hotel.

Impressive Nest is exactly the right name
We had the time of our lives at Maya Sanur. I genuinely wish we didn’t have to leave.
The resort itself is beautifully designed. It’s huge, but somehow never feels huge — the different wings are laid out so thoughtfully that everything feels close and easy to get to. There’s a real sense of space without ever feeling inconvenient.
The pool was probably the highlight for me. The view is just incredible, with the ocean sitting right behind it, and there is something very special about starting the day there.
Our very first lunch at Tree Bar after checking in pretty much set the tone for the whole stay. The food was delicious, and the kids’ menu deserves a special mention — it’s extensive, thoughtfully done and, wonderfully, is complimentary when the adults order from the main menu. It felt like someone had actually thought about what families need rather than just putting together a token kids’ menu.
The staff were just fantastic. The team at Mayasari in particular became part of the rhythm of our mornings, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a nicer bunch of people to start the day with. The gym is perfectly sufficient, the food throughout the resort is genuinely tasty, and the pool staff are wonderfully attentive without ever being intrusive.
There’s something about Maya Sanur that makes you settle into holiday mode very, very quickly.
I loved this place. More than I expected to. And by the end, my only real complaint was that I had to leave.
