This wonderfully decorated hotel is located strategically since it is about 15-minute drive from the airport and 5-minute drive from the Nusa Dua white sandy beach. I have waited for some time now for my complaints to be addressed before posting this and it appears to have fallen on deaf ears. So this is my true reflection on my stay at The Crystal Luxury Bay Resort hotel, in Nusa Dua, Bali.
First of all this hotel had no atmosphere at all, unless you count the relentless smells of stale cigarette smoke in the hall ways and communal areas. We decided to eat in the hotel restaurant one night and were shocked to discover that out of all the residents we where the only ones in the restaurant. As I said, no atmosphere, no one even used the bar.
As for the rooms, they were certainly not luxury, infact they were very tired and in need of updating. The shower leaked and the chrome works on the taps covered in scale. The laundry supplied us with grey towels, I think they were ment to be white. The bedding was marked and when complained about was changed by house keeping.
The hotel boasted a shop, this was intact three shelves on a dodgy book case in the lobby. It also boasted a luxury spa. None such this existed in the hotel, our spa request was farmed out to another spa. It also boasted a games room, again there was no such room during our stay.
The pool areas both downstairs and on the roof we're very tired and not as clean as they could be. The Balinese beds on the roof had mould on them with the roof top bar not open during our stay.
In short, we had been sold this hotel as a luxury hotel, it wasn't. It may have been many years ago when first opened, but now suffers from being very tired and dated. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The only good thing about this hotel where the staff, who were very apologetic and keen to do the best they could. Don't go, trust me.
